Kids, I'd like you to take a look at this post.

See that bold font on the pick?  Perfection.

Band and album clearly identified?  Tasty.

Album year clearly identified?  :fingerkiss:

Song selections clearly linked for KP?  Mmmmmmm.

A+++++ would read again.

Her update of that rather sad looking pasta dish was impressive.
The last couple of episodes have been good for her.  I don't think she's like Lee Ann awful or anything, but she should have been kicked off at least a couple of times earlier, and she's nowhere near the other four.  I'd eat any of their food on their worst day.  The only one whose food I've had was Kevin's (at Gunshow in ATL), and it was beyond amazing.

Also I find her very likable, so I hate saying that.  Just not at that level of the others, though.

I used to travel to Frederick, MD for work so I've been to Volt a few times for lunch.  My daughter can't stand Kevin and booed when he won 2 out of 3 on LCK.  She's really down on White men in general at the moment with good reason I guess.

Melissa is SF so we like her.

I'm rooting for Melissa overall, but I won't complain about anyone but Stephanie!  Does Mel have a SF restaurant?  I would die to eat her food.

Hey- I've been good.  Where's my love?  Huh?

(Please don't get teargassed.  And be careful.)

No she's based here but mostly does/did consulting before the shutdown.

I worry about how the chefs are coping.  I remember Malarkey saying pre-restaurant wars that he'd opened nineteen restaurants.  It not all his money but nineteen anything is overextended in this economy.

Van the Man - And It Stoned Me - I have to admit all the stories about him being a miserable sod have put me off a bit.  But man, this is a terrific record and Van just kills it.

Stones - When the Whip - Charlie's drums are higher in the mix on Some Girls than they were in 69-72.  He's the best of course.

Thin Lizzy - Rosalie/Cowgirls - The legend with Live & Dangerous is that Tony Visconti (I think) overdubbed like crazy so it's like a studio album with applause.  Doesn't matter though.  The moment where the band switches song and everyone claps along is pure magic.

Ben Howard - Only Love - Love his playing, like his singing, just OK on his songwriting.

I missed a couple while doing something else but came back in to the ending of Rush Limelight.  My favorite part of the song.

Phoenix - Lisztomaia - Not feeling this beat tonight.  It's not you, it's me.

OK, so I’ve had a long short week this week so I’ve had a few drinks - pretty sure this hasn’t been taken after some perusal of the master list via phone. Dipping back into the seventies for another classic. Yo Mama welcomes The Thin White Duke and all his coked-out awesomeness to the island and selects:

Mine is probably Ziggy just from it being the first one I listened to a lot, but I like a lot of them.
Comparing Ziggy to Low is like two different artists.

Every so often, I'll listen to one of his 80s or 90s albums to see if I like them any better this time.  None are bad and some are quite good but he had set the bar impossibly high.

ROUND 23

DR. OCTAGON - DR. OCTAGYNECOLOGIST

(1996)

I’ve said before that too much kool Keith makes me sick but I would never ever ever want to live in a world without him, so gotta put my money where my mouth it on this one.  Dan the Automator’s beats are very chill and able to keep Keith from just sprawling all over the place.  Beautiful stiff.
