Desperate?...Jacoby Jones (1 Viewer)

Man, I wish I would have picked him. Ive been meaning to get him before he becomes active. O n a team desperate for offense firepower, I think he is one of the few explosive players the Ravens have.

Sorry to bump an old post, but Jones has shown a spark to the Raven team. He definitely has big play ability and the Ravens don't seem likely to rely on the run game. Could be worth a look, if you...like me...are desperate for a #2 wide receiver.

I am desperate and Jeffrey's success last week gives me hope he connects on a long TD. MIN secondary is bad.

By all means don't be sorry, this is how the forums should work. Having a hundred threads on one guy is not only confusing it's annoying! That said I think he is a decent play ROS.

Yeah I picked him up earlier today. If you get points for return yards that is an added bonus.

Since he returned from injury, he is WR48 in PPR - solidly WR4-WR5 range. not really good enough to get excited about starting, but should be rostered in a 12 man league and playable if you are hurting elsewhere. Over his last two games, he put up 29.6, good enough to be WR21.

Where it gets interesting is his schedule for the next couple of weeks: vs Vikings (2nd most points allowed to WR), and at Detroit (6th most points allowed to WR).

I'm not saying he's gonna set the world on fire, but if you have match-up/injury issues headed into the playoffs, you could do worse IMO.

I like the schedule. Not really interested in WR4 upside, and like the title says. If I was desperate. Playoff talent teams are rarely this desperate. But the thing that would concern me if I had Jacoby Jones on my radar is what will be the effect on the distribution of targets once Dennis Pitta is cleared? How is the pie divvied up then?

I look at it this way....if Jones is going to help me it will be because he scored a long touchdown. At least that seems more likely to occur than him catching a dozen passes. So, if he is a home run threat - then Pitta being in the lineup and effective would only increase his value. He could keep drives alive and draw attention from a safety...hopefully that means the Ravens dial up some sort of deep pass play to Jones.
