detroit defense (1 Viewer)

am i the only person that thinks this is a sneaky play this week. They are listed way down on the prelim cheatsheets and yahoo has them as poor performers also.

They are playing the 49ers, who are notoriously terrible on the road (not even that good at home). Does anyone agree?

I picked them up just for this week. Don't want to jinx them, but I think they will be a sneaky play for a lot of reasons. SF has been absolutely anemic the last several weeks on offense. Detroit should be playing with a big lead, as Kitna, KJ and RW look like too much for the Niners. And I really, really liked what I saw from the defense last week. Didn't think they could hold Dunn and Vick in check. Bly was attacking the ball in the secondary. Lions playing with more confidence, and are much better than their record. If they can stuff Gore, and get A. Smith in 3rd and long, the D could get some TD's. We'll see.

I bypassed much higher ranked defense (Atlanta, etc.) and went with my gut on this one. Let's hope they come through..

I picked them up. They actually have a nice schedule, could be a great play for a few games over the course of the season

How is there return game?
Started out very slow. But Drummond has looked better recently.Regarding the defense... they just place their leading sack man, James Hall on IR.

Saw that. Every D is nicked up now though. Detroit's D will depend a lot on the O. If they get up 21-0, and force the 49rs to throw 40+ times, then they'll be picks and possibly TD's aplenty. If they can stop Vick and company, they at least have the talent to do the same vs. the Niners at home...

ONe thing you have to remember about the Lions.. they play to the level of the team they are playing. The games you think they dont stand a chance they pull it outta their arses and win (ie- Atlanta). And the games you expect them to win cause they are playing a worse team they find ways to screw up and lose. Been this way for years.

BTW yes I am a jaded Detroit homer.
