Adam Schein of Sirius NFL radio and FoxSports.com says Lions fans should be ecstatic with the change in coaching staff. Marinelli's aggressive, no-nonsense style drove two or three players to file a grievance against him. This infuriated some players, including Damiein Woody.

May 20, FoxSports.com: Woody also had something to say to his new coaching staff. The guard told us: "The leaders on this team, me, Marcus Pollard, Dre Bly, Cory Schlesinger, we told the coaches to keep this going. This is how you coach a team. This is what the Lions need. It's going to take time for some players to adjust. That's how it was in New England when we went from Pete (Carroll) to Bill (Belichick). At first, it was a shock. But we realized this is what it takes to win. And we want to win in Detroit. We need this."

Yes... The best time of the year to be a Lions Fan... WE BELIEVE...

Mariucchi sure used that coaching talent well at his previous post ...

Detroit needs some playcalling common sense. That's all. And since Mariucchi isn't calling the plays ... who cares?

Hmm... Woody a leader? Maybe at the buffet line. Guy's been way overweight the past two seasons. He needs to be at 325 in August, or else he needs to shut the hell up. My preference would be the former.

Is Pollard even there? He was a position coach in NFLE this year

Woody is far from backing up his self-perceived position as a leader. Schlessinger may have been a leader at one point and is one of the hardest working players in the game but will probably be cut. Pollard is an outspoken 2nd stringer at best and Dre Bly is simply a prima donna #####. This team sorely lacks leadership and I don't see a legit canidate on the roster yet.

especially with Joey gone ...You mean Rogers, BMW, and Bly are not clubhouse leaders that lead by example? Now, that's hard to believe.
