***Detroit Tigers thread: 1st pick yet again, this is not fun*** (4 Viewers)

After two hits to lead off the inning and north of 100 pitches? In a scoreless game?

Sorry, but it's not 2012 anymore
He had allowed 1 hit through 7 and the bullpen is shaky.  No idea what your point is other than to :fishing:

Call into 97.1, you'll fit right in.

I'll start posting about Jose Abreu and leaving your closer in long enough to give up 6 runs in the White Sux thread if you want. Let me know!

Sanchez pitching a nice round of batting practice.  I must say he looks a lot better than Greene when I was there last year when he served up 5 homers in the first two.

Sanchez is a pile of crap.  I would rather se no-win Pulfery on the mound.  The Tigers need two more starters immediately.  I would rather give sone new guy a shot instead of keep putting out the guys we know are going to get pounded.

If both were released today..not sure they would be picked up.  There is a good chance Pelfrey would have been out of baseball and fishing right nowl had the Tigers not rescued him.  Jim Price said about Sanchez "When guys are running to the plate to bat it is not a good sign"

I think Sanchez should probably have a "abdominal strain" soon and get Greene, Boyd or Norris in the rotation. Guy is toast and won't be there beyond this year. He's a turd and has caused bad momentum to continue and good momentum to stop. Plus he's killing the bullpen.

Losing both series hurts...Tigers needed to win 2-3 from the A`s and Angels.  A`s basically fielded a minor league squad.  I really thought they were going to take 4-6..or maybe 5-6 going in.  I thought wrong.

On another note Albert looks 70 years old while running.  How many years do he have left on his deal?

So much for the cheatin Marlon Byrd comparison. Might have played his last game after being slapped with a 162 game suspension.

Fulmer is going to be a legit K pitcher, even when he's having an off night. But watching him get 15 or so pretty easy outs tonight, many in the ground and early in the count, gives me a tingle in me gulliver.
Had the change up working last night. 2 starts next week but one is vs. TOR (other is at NYY). Gotta rely on this guy til the King gets back.

Keep it going!

I hope Boyd lights it up tonight. Then just need to get Norris in over Pelfrey. I see no problems going with a mostly young staff... Why not? It's working for the Mets.

Boyd is a key part with Sanchez now out of the rotation. I can live with Pelfrey as a #5 for the short term, but it would be nice to get that cat Norris in there.

Shane Greene activated, Buck Farmer sent to Toledo to make room. He is one of the few pitchers in the bullpen that is pitching well and they send him down. Ridiculous.

They've done it while giving players rest but I hope Brad sticks with JD in the 5 and Cam in the 2. If Upton ever decides that he's a baseball player again it will lend to a more credible top to bottom lineup.

The Tigers promoted their future closer, Joe Jiminez to Double A Erie. All he did in Lakeland was pitch 17 innings, allowed no runs, 5 hits, 5 walks (0.58 WHIP) with 28 strikeouts. His overall minor league numbers are sick. He throws a high 90s fastball with late movement and a swing and miss slider.

I can't wait to see how he does against better hitters. In his first game in Erie, he struck out the side.
In his second game for Erie, Jiminez allowed 1 hit and struck out 2.

In his 2 games for Erie: 2 innings, 1 hit, no runs, no walks, 5 strikeouts.

In his second game for Erie, Jiminez allowed 1 hit and struck out 2.

In his 2 games for Erie: 2 innings, 1 hit, no runs, no walks, 5 strikeouts.
Jiminez pitched his 3rd game for Erie Saturday, perfect inning with 2 strikeouts.

So far, he has pitched 3 games, 3 innings, given up 1 hit, no runs, no walks, WHIP of 0.33, with 7 strikeouts.

The domination continues.

There is no way the Tigers can go very long with 2 dead weight pitchers in the bullpen (Sanchez and Lowe). They both have issues and need to pitch in low leverage situations to try to fix their problems. We can get by with one but not both.

Lowe has lost 3-4 mph on his fastball since last year and it makes me wonder if he is hurt. Regardless, he has to start to show something or they will have to get rid of him or maybe he can go to Toledo.

Lowe needs to go or, if possible, sent down to work on his issues. I also hate how they keep rotating these quad A guys at the end of the bull pen. Go make a move. I actually appreciate trying Parnell over guys like Kyle Ryan. Just puke. Get it together, it's June. Hell, I sort of feel bad for Brad. He has been trying everything to give the team some consistency and KRod is the only one he can trust in the pen.

Glad the Sux fans are here now. We can talk about them getting their asses swept when they had Sale on the mound for one of the 3 games.
