Was just on CNN...no names mentioned yet but there seems to be another player found to be invloved. I am sure we will get that name soon! It was also said that Dog fighting is very active in Arizona. Who is it??

Obviously Kurt Warner :lmao: :lmao:

Easy guesses would be Marcus Vick or cousin Aaron Brooks.

If I were the Falcons I'd go nowhere near Brooks in my backup QB search because of the risk of him being involved.

Guess i may have misread this, are they saying the player is an Arizona Cardinal? If not then maybe Joey Porter or the obvious choice, Clinton Portis.

Where is Tank Johnson from?

I heard something on Sirius NFL radio, very surprised it didn't get any "legs"...it was reported that the raid on Tank Johnson's house which turned into the gun charge was originally because of illegal dog kennels in Johnson's backyard.

Doesn't this guy have children in that house? Guess it didn't stop him from having an arsenal of weapons laying around.

A little more info on the Tank Johnson post I made earlier...

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-tank15.article

Police said they obtained a search warrant for Johnson's home as part of an investigation they began in early November, but Jones wouldn't say what triggered the investigation. Neighbors, though, said police had been to the house several times in recent months, including after receiving complaints about pit bulls that Johnson owned.

I believe the guy I heard on Sirius NFL radio was Lester Munson....

No they did not mention any names or teams. Just said another player is involved and that his name was not put out yet and then it was said the Arizona is one of the bigger states for dog fighitng happening.

From what I have seen, the only tie the NFL player has is that he lived next door to where the dogfights occurred. He may or may not be involved, but these are very loose ties, if any at all so far. Looks like the media is going with anything they can right now for obvious reasons.

peter king chimes in...player says he thinks every player has been or knows soemone who has been at a dog fight..oh boy here we go
This is nothing new. This is info that was coming out when the Vick story first broke, months ago.
I did not say it was anythign new..i was a bit surprised that a player thinks almost every palyer has been to a dog fight and that was the first I have seen it said.

Ppl are really naive if they think vick is the only pro athlete involved in dog fighting. I'm sure there are a number of guys around the league that are afraid of what vick will say if he decides to become a witness for the state. Also I bet there are some college players, who plan to go into the NFL, scared as #### right now

Years ago Verron Haynes was featured in an ESPN article with a pit bull that he bought from OutKast's Big Boi. Haynes went to Georgia, which is also the home state of Vick and OutKast. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a connection there. I also wouldn't be surprised to learn that there's a pretty extensive underground dog fighting scene involving rappers and professional athletes. Both groups have lots of money and seem to pride themselves on being tough guys. Dog fighting is the kind of stupid macho activity that the lesser of these sorts might engage in to enhance their perceived manhood.

Joey Porter is a believable choice given that he has a connection to Haynes and isn't know for demonstrating the best judgment.

I think this goes along with the emmit smith statement...

I believe the Feds know that the large dollars that keep dog fighting going come out of the NFL... they are looking to shake the tree, if the NFL players stop adding funds, the problem dries up a bit, or people looking for backers go to other more illegal and easier to catch options, drugs, or theft whatever....

honestly, I expected the feds to go a little less high profile on the first one... more like they do with the madam's and the little black book.. you here about an Arkansas congressman... but rarely do you here about the governor that became president in those black books.. and ya know he's there....

Vick is more than involved. He allegedly ran an organiztion. Big difference. It is like the difference between going to an illegal poker room and running an illegal poker room while taking a rake. If Vick comes in as a witness, he will have to give up guys higher on the chain or organizing- not lower.

Not saying this is the case, but is anyone wondering if there are any NFL owners or upper management involved? Just thinking outloud.

Al Davis would do anything for a nickel, don't count him out.

I saw some show where Porter gave a tour of his home and showed off his kennel. Big Boi showed his on MTV cribs. I have a feeling most of America has no idea how prevalent this stuff is, especially among athletes and celebrities. This is going to be much bigger than just Vick if they go after every star that is/was involved in dog fighting.

Nope. Most of today's owners may have a gross/sleazy side to what they do, but that would be off in a different neck of the woods than the gross/sleazy corner where ingrates huddle around blood-soaked pit bulls.

Brooks? Never in a million years, and I'd bet the house on that. The guy just doesn't have that personality.

Just going to post about Verron as I was scrolling. Good call. This is going to be turn out to include a significant minority of the NFL culture.Hopefully Vick is just the poster boy. Not the fuse. Hopefully everyone else gets the message and gets civilized in a hurry.

It doesn't matter how prevalent it is...it's wrong, and all involved should face the appropriate penalty.

This isn't dope smoking we're talking about...this is inhumane.

And :lmao: at anyone who thinks billionaire businessmen are involved in this...

Im sure if the Feds dig deep enough they can find a few more players on my dynasty rosters to get sucked into this.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned Edgerrin James. Or maybe I missed it. But that would be my 90% certain guess.

Actually Pittsburgh's had more arrests according to turd watch
More arrest than who? the Bengals? If so, then list them please.
