Devin Thomas (1 Viewer)

still a little early. so far a bust but i wouldn't be surprised to see him put it together. talent-wise he has everything you want.

Thomas is clearly a bust. He's even gotten on the bad side of his position coach with a bad attitude.

And to think that idiot Vinny Cerrato passed on DeSean Jackson TWICE to take Thomas and "Sleepy" Fred Davis, who can't even learn the freakin' playbook.

At some point you have to ask if Thomas doesn't have the head to develop as a player, or if Zorn & Co. aren't good enough coaches to develop players.

I think its probably Thomas is a bust but equally the inability to scout and/or develop players. Kelley seems be more focused but has only 6 catches in 4 games. Not sure if his knee is bothering him or they just can't plug him in.

To anyone watching the games, what is this guy lacking? From a pure physical standpoint he should be an elite WR. There is nothing he cannot do and almost half of the reputable draft sites had him at the top of his class for WR rankings. Why is he not more productive? Is this a Roddy White situation where we won't know what he has until a better QB comes along?

6 games, 7 receptions.

He's not good. However there is someone that has potential on that team, provided they get a QB.

there will be a housecleaning. perhaps with a new QB, OC and head coach there will be a real chance at redemption here?

If I had to pick between Thomas and Kelly right now, I'd keep Thomas. But, I'm pretty sure neither will amount to much. Most Skins fans are hoping Marko Mitckell starts more snaps as the season progresses.

Housecleaning? For the Redskins? This experiment has been tried 100 times since Snyder bought the team. What is needed is a real housecleaning of the owner's office.

I've been pretty disappointed by Thomas and Kelly. They're not as good as I thought they were, but as others have mentioned the Redskins are a horrible team with a pitiful passing game. These guys might have some potential with a QB/coaching change.

As I stated above, there is 'someone' that has potential on that team. That someone is Marko Mitchell. Had to wait to announce his name so that some lurker in my league didn't swoop in and outbid me for him.Only thing I found was a couple of youtube videos of him. Ranked as 29th WR by NFLDraftCountdown last year.

This is interesting.

SI.com

BIOGRAPHY: Junior-college transfer who has led Nevada in receptions the past two years. All-Conference selection as a senior after totaling 61/1141/10. Junior totals included 53/1129/8.

POSITIVES: Fluid and graceful receiver with reliable hands. Plays with great balance, body control and extends his hands, offering the quarterback a nice target. Stays low exiting breaks, comes back to the ball, and uses his frame to shield away opponents. Makes effective use of the sidelines, and consistently catches the pass away from his body.

NEGATIVES: Does not quickly release off the line into routes. One-speed receiver with a loping style. Does not always show toughness in his game.

ANALYSIS: Mitchell possesses the pass-catching skills and body type to be a productive second receiver in the NFL. At times he plays a passive game and is not as dominant as most people expect. He's a middle-round choice with the ability to have a productive career at the next level if he consistently plays at a high level.

Obviously Marko is nowhere near Randy Moss' universe. But, the little I saw of him in the preseason, he somewhat reminded me of Moss. OK, so part of that is simply his build and that he wears 84. But, he did some very nice things in preseason that, even if for just one play, looked for Moss-ish.

The big knock I hear on him right now is that he doesn't run many different routes. Since Thomas and Kelly are doing nothing, it might be time to let Marko run the few routes he can and see what he can do. He could turn out to be nothing. He could turn out to be a nice late-round pick. Either way, Redskins fans really want to start to find out.

 and I'll add that Thomas is garbage. feel free to drop him from all dynasty leagues.

I liked Mitchell until he performed horribly at the combine. He ran a decent 4.49 40 but was near the bottom in everything else. He's a big play guy and should be used more by the Redskins, but I don't see him developing into much more than Hank Baskett.
