Dexter Jackson starting...for Marvin White (1 Viewer)

Okay, most of the big news looks like it's behind us. Be sure you check the main thread for any new scoop.

Jackson isn't going to play much this week with the Steelers spread/shotgun offense. White will play on the majority of passing downs and may in fact play the opening snap. I wouldn't rush to get Jackson and I wouldn't rush to dump White. I would think twice about White if I've got another DB option this weekend, but not too hard.

Very good news for Ndukwe's standing with Marvin Lewis that Jackson moves to FS. However, it's really confusing that the worst cover safety on the team is now at FS. Could mean some switching of roles, with Jackson getting more time in the box regardless of what he's called.

It'll be worth watching today for sure.

Here's the text from Hobson at bengals.com:

Safety Dexter Jackson returned to the lineup for the first time since breaking a thumb in the opener and moved to free safety in place of Marvin White and opposite strong safety Chinedum Ndukwe. White, the second-year player out of Texas Christian, has started all six games at free and came up with his first NFL interception last week against Jets quarterback Brett Favre. But the Bengals are apparenlty seeking more secondary seasoning in an effort to cut down on big plays, particulalry on third down.
To the bolded (which probably isn't something Hobson would agree with either), I  .glllllllllll peas on that one.

That really sucks.I wasn't able to get to a computer Sunday morning and started White instead of Roman Harper which could end up costing me the win.

On Saturday someone dropped rb Chris Taylor ( on MFL). I scooped him up, but had to temporarily cut someone to make roster space. After putting Taylor on IR, I re-aquired the player I dropped (a cb). Sunday I went to put A. Rouse in for White and when I did, I got a message that I needed 2 cb's. I clicked back, checked the cb that I had dropped who was in my original starting lineup and thought I was good. Turns out that when I went back to put the cb back in, it wiped out the White for Rouse switch and I didn't notice until it was too late. It will never happen again. Thankfully it didn't cost me the win.
