Dexter McCluster (1 Viewer)

I've tried to stay ahead of the curve on some fringe WRs (due to starter injuries and no FA bidding $ left) and picked up McCluster last week. It seems that he's healthy this week for the first time in awhile - my question is what's his projected role? Was he starting before he got injured or just coming in in 3 WR sets. He looked pretty good before the injury and that was at a time when the Chiefs were struggling on offense.

Watched some of the Chiefs game last week and saw some some guy named Tucker out there?? of course they didn't really have to go to anyone else because Bowe was open at will against the Seahawks. Chiefs seem to be firing on all cylindars right now - can McCluster slip into the #2 spot and do some damage if Bowe is being double teamed?

I see McCluster as a great buy low in dynasty leagues, but will be too inconsistent this year to count on him. He's a game changer and allows KC to do a lot of nice things, but his coming out party will probably come next season.

Agreed. He isn't gonna do much damage. I don't see how you can successfully double Bowe with the scheme they run. Charles and Jones will kill you considering how much they run, I'd think this is the main reason why Bowe gets as open as he does.

I'm very interested to see McCluster now that Cassel is playing well. Before his injury, Cassel and the offense was very blah. Now they're pretty good and much improved in the passing game. His upside was always limited by touches and offensive philosophy before, but it's possible he has some legit upside now that they're throwing it more - and with better quality at all levels of the field, as opposed to just the short stuff.

Verran Tucker, rookie out of Cal. I was surprised to see him playing in the NFL, he never seemed that special to me. He's not that physically amazing, but a real gamer. Maybe our crappy QBs just couldn't get him the ball enough.

Yeah, I'm very interesed to see what he's going to do as well. Chambers, Tucker, etc.. have been virtually non existent opposite Bowe. I have to think he's going to get some looks from Cassel - though maybe not enough to be relevant.

DMC isn't going to be playing the WR2 role in 2WR sets, that seems to be some sort of rotation of Terrance Copper, the aforementioned Tucker, and possibly the ghost Chris Chambers (I have not seen him since he got his off season contract though).

3WR sets he'll line up in the slot and on the outside though.

ETA: He may come out in 2WR sets as the running back! :goodposting:
