DEZ BLOWUP (1 Viewer)

Heh, I was talking to a buddy this morning about how remarkably mature Dez seems to have become since threatening to kill his mother. Oh well.

Totally uncalled for and he went about it all wrong and in the wrong place.

Romo does seem to ignore him more than most premier WR's though. Also taking away the obvious selfish nature of the blow up, Romo was pitiful for the most part today. Some horrendous tacking by Detroit led to 2 big plays that made Romo's otherwise bad day look better.

That's passion, fellas. Better to have it than not.
Not that brand of passion that has the potential of becoming toxic in the locker room. No excuse for his behavior. Passion can be expressed in more productive ways. Let's not spin today's tantrums as a good thing.

What I don't understand is when someone like Rodgers or Peyton or Brady blatantly show up their teammates by screaming at them they don't get nearly as much criticism as a "diva wr" like Dez. Seems odd to me.

I liked what MIchael Strahan said, once his talent slips just a little bit they will get rid of him (see Terrell Owens). Of course Bryant isn't past his prime like Owens was, so I don't know about that. I do agree with what he said that Bryant was disrespecting his teammates and coaches and they will eventually get tired of it. The guy is a walking time bomb.

When there's 12 seconds left in the game and your QB is trying to get you to huddle up to talk about what you're going to do, it's definitely not better to stand around screaming at your teammates instead.

per Witten:"We have a great relationship with him. This is a close-knit group. He has more passion than anyone I've ever played with. That's a good thing to have. With 12 seconds left, we were all upset, but there was still time left. I tried to communicate that. There was more football to play. We were going to get the ball back and the play we had drawn up, he was a big part of that play. We were trying to get him to calm down because we were going to try to get him the ball on that play."

Witten reiterated he has "no hard feelings" for Bryant.

"I love that kid like a brother," Witten said. "There are no hard feelings. DeMarcus and I talked to him. He's a great receiver and plays his tail off week-in and week-out. It's as simple as that. It's a disappointing loss. Dez is a guy who plays with his heart. We all do. Those things come up."

Witten says he has more passion than anyone he's played. That shows.

I must have missed where Peyton went off like this.Although, frankly we do usually give the QB the role of leader and presume the best from them in situations similar to this.

Stupid auto correct

Ahh, the convenient PR spin. Nice.

I like how Randle moves in to get Dez's back. Witten could look at him and the eye contact would knock him out.

Yeah. We should probably listen to internet guy instead.

Or make a big thing out of nothing, which is what everyone seems ready to do
Or buy team spin, which a lot of other people do, as well.

Yes, it's odd that when Rodgers and Peyton and Brady act the way Dez did, the get no criticism.

Wait, those guys have never acted like that.

Watching lazy don't give a #### players like Chris Johnson , Britt , I'm thrilled to have a player that cares.
Fair enough, just watch who you go off on. What I saw was a wr going off on one of the best players in the league in witten. Didn't see everything of course

Because they are screaming at players for failing to their jobs, not for the player failing to make them look good.
How do you know what Dez was screaming about?

I don't recall seeing him on that final play, was he in there?

How can the passion be all good if it fks up your teams plans for the final play?

He's not a diva. Just goes at 100% all the time. Practice and games.
Great posting. It's about time someone says what should have been said a long time ago. Guy is pure heart. Plays top notch football each and every down and his teammates should be thankful they have him. Guy is too good to be held down. Give him the ball, Romo. Recognize.

Cowboys still lost though so that is the good thing about this. But, Bryant, yeah, pure heart there.

I love a good Cowboy's collapse!!!
:goodposting:

Theoretically, I should be rooting for Detroit to lose so that Seattle's path to the playoffs or HFA will be easier should they falter in the second half of the season, but I just can't help loving Cowboys collapses. I tried to remind myself that Dallas winning was better but I kept cheering for Detroit out of instinct. Heart won out over head.

We'd be fools then. Dez is one of the few players that actually gives a crap on the team.

After all his tantrums he was in there. I think that says alot about Jason Garrett's leadership. You have a player that was throwing temper tantrums, complete with arms flailing, on the sideline all game. He was screaming at his position coach, Tony Romo, Jason Witten, and Demarcus Ware. He ignored Witten's request to talk about the next play. And despite that, he gets to go in on the last play.

Of course Witten is going to say what he said to the press. He is a professional. Unlike Dez. And something tells me that Ware, Witten, and Romo handled his antics the way they should be handled - in the locker room.

He showed up his teammates and disrespected his coach. He knew the cameras were on him.

That's not passion. That's being a whiny little #####.
You gotta be kidding me. I guarantee you that you and nearly everyone on these boards has thrown a bigger fit over losing their fake football game on some random week because of something their player did not do, they happened to play the guy with the career day, somebody made a terrible trade and it's not fair, etc.

Brady does this. Rivers does this. Keep and newton look for the camera and do this. This is only a story because it is Dez Bryant because what you saw was a rightfully frustrated man at his job that knows he can be the difference in making his work better for his team.

At least he has a legit reason to be upset....better than you or me in week 2 when Eddie Royal caught 3 TDs and we just couldn't believe we lost to "that" guy.

Agree and quite literally, there is a better chance jerry jones is dead or out of the everyday running of his team before Dez starts slipping in the talent department.

Here's the video of the final play. He does what he should and gets in position to receive a lateral that never came.

Total BS. They care, and are playing hard. This wasn't a one-time rant. Bryant did it the whole freakin' game. Way, way out of line.
