Dez Bryant or Miles Austin (1 Viewer)

This is all just speculation at this point. Anyone who says they "know" what will happen is just trying to convince themselves, or fool themselves.

This one will take a little time to play out. Given all the hype on Bryant, I do think this would be a good time to make a move on Austin.

That's a lot of $ Jerry shelled out for Miles to be a #2. How long before he meddles with Garrett and has more passes tossed his way.
he also traded a 1st and 3rd draft picks for roy williams then payed him 26m guaranteed. mebbe he will force the ball there.

If we're looking at Dez (1a) and Austin (1b), who would be willing to start both this week vs Det? Is that a viable option? You would hedge your bets on who outperforms the other, but is it a smart play? I would most likely start Dez over Austin, but I don't see playing them both. Although I think one can make a strong case to do so.
Here in lies my dilemma. I have both Bryant and Austin with Mile Williams TB and S Moss. I can either start a combinaton of 2 RB and 2 WR or 1 RB and 3 WR.My RB's are A Foster McCoy Gore... Foster tough match up so @ the moment but was thinkingFosterGoreBryantWilliams TBORGoreBryantM AustinWilliams

I dont care about your team

I think it's going to be one of those fantasy nightmares for you guys from here on out. Every week being a crap shoot on who blows up. Dez breaking out will draw more double teams. This will allow Austin the opportunity to break those long one since he;s so difficult to take down after the catch.

If the Cowboys shore up the line, play smart penalty free football, this offense next year has no excuse not to contend for statistical greatness. The weapons are insane. I don't think there is a team in the same stratosphere in regards to offensive talent.

ETA - lol, to actually answer the question - THIS year - I think we will see more of the same. Dez will get most of the targets, and Miles will catch a few here and there. He (Austin) either breaks it long or doesn't, but the big play potential is still there. Kitna just doesn't go his way. I can only speculate, but I can only guess that Kitna must have been working with Dez a lot and feels comfortable with him. As talented as Dez appears to be, it looks like throwing to him nearly every play is a piece of cake.

austin and romo have ridiculous chemistry together. if romo is the qb in dallas, austin is the #1.
You really think it's that simple? They have good chemistry but mostly before Dez has become a major part of the offense.I believe this is a 1a/1b thing, call it Fitz/Boldin, Marvin/Wayne, whatever you like.

i believe thats what it ultimately boils down to. and remember, bryant started becoming a bigger part of the offense after romo was stomped into the ground for 6 to 8. it may be a 1a/1b type situation but in that case i believe austin will be the 1a and bryant the 1b.

The Cowboys have been using Miles Austin more of a deep threat this season than Dez Bryant. This is why you saw Miles Austin getting more quality games with Tony Romo, Tony could/can deliver that type of ball better than Kitna. Plus, the Cowboys line has provided less time for the QB to get the pass off, so they have turned to quick drops and quick releases. They have used Dez Bryant as the primary receiver in this manner, as he's very good at catching those balls and getting up field and getting positive yardage. Obviously that's not what happens 100 percent of the time, Dez can run a deep route and they may try a WR screen to Miles but generally speaking it started off this way.

The Detroit Lions have a good front four but weak linebackers and a weak secondary. I expect Jason Witten to have a good day today, as there's nobody on Detroit who can cover Witten. I also expect the WR screen to work well today with a quick rushing Detroit team. So whether that's Miles or Dez ( probably Dez), they should have the better day. If Miles is restricted to the 20 yard over the middle routes, his chances are limited, forcing him to hit on those few opportunities in a game. Against Detroit those chances go up a little compared to normal since their defense isn't that good.

I also expect the Dallas running game to look a little better than normal due to the Detroit run D. Play action should be a good play today and this is where Miles Austin could get a big play.

I don't think it's a nightmare for Bryant owners. He's caught a TD in every game Kitna has played except one and in that game he put up 7-84. He's the No. 1 WR in this offense with a QB and head coach who are fixated on getting him the ball as often as possible. I think he's a Must Start going forward as a strong WR2 with WR1 upside. The nightmare is for Austin owners.

Nice to see you fella ramble. I dropped Austin and am running with... D Bryant, A Gates, M Wallace, B Lloyd, and Collie. Just cant run 2 Dallas receivers on my team with that horrid Dallas Aw-Fense. Thanks.

Well not so bad considering the amount of targets given to both Austin and Dez. Kitna clearly looks for Austin in the redzone too.
