Dez Bryant top WR off the board? (1 Viewer)

Anyone think Dez Bryant can/will finish as the top WR this year? He's got Scott Linehan coming in as Dallas' new OC, and we all know what he did with Calvin Johnson in Detroit. Dallas also has a horrible defense so we know they'll be throwing the ball quite a bit.

I suppose the logic is weak, but I'm wondering if Calvin Johnson could see a slight dip in his stats with Joe Lombardi coming in from New Orleans, who liked to spread the ball around quite a bit. Meanwhile in Denver, Demaryius Thomas is the obvious top option there, but with an aging Peyton and a top notch defense, you wonder if they may pump the brakes a bit on the gunslinging offense they showed last year.

Would it be crazy to take Dez of CJ and DT this year?

Not crazy at all. Go with your gut. If you think Dez is going to be the Top WR, go for it. The only downside is if you have concerns about Romo's back. But if you think he will be healthy then all signs are pointing to Dez having a monster year (you left out that he is in a contract year). FF owners who just pick players based on last year's numbers usually don't win.

I wouldn't take Dez before Megatron, or pay more for him in an auction, because his value isn't as high, but I think Bryant is definitely gonna have a monster year and could be the number 1 WR. Megatron's TDs can be really up and down from year to year, so if his are down a bit, Bryant could sneak pass him and end up at the top.

I see no reason at all to differentiate among Calvin, Dez, DT, and Jordy Nelson based on my statistical expectations. I'd still take Calvin first among that group, just because if all goes well for all those guys, Calvin still has the highest trade value. (ETA: non-ppr)

And really, I don't see much difference between those guys and the next group of seven or so.

While this is a Dez thread and I think he is the best WR in all formats, I have Jordy ranked (Dez, CJ, DT, Julio AJ, BM...) 7th and believe he is the most under rated elite performer in fantasy football.
