Dez Bryant - what round next year? (1 Viewer)

Trying to decide whether to drop him this year or not. I'm in a keeper league where players are kept at a fraction of last year's draft pick.

Assuming he recovers fully, what round do you think he'll be drafted in next year? Or alternatively what WR# will he be drafted?

Off the top of my head, maybe 5th or 6th round? He looks like a beast, but two injuries in his rookie season is a major red flag.

I have to agree, the injuries are becoming a huge concern. He was worth a 9th or 10th round pick this year, and I only see him moving up to a 7th round pick next year. The crucial factor will be whether he establishes himself as the #2 receiver over Williams in training camp next year.

I feel Bryant is a guy who will have a lot of momentum going into fantasy drafts, sort of like Hakeem Nicks this year. As a big-time talent in a high octane passing offense I would not be surprised to see him going in the 4th or 5th when drafts roll around.

He'll be gone by the 3rd round in most leagues IMO. As BlueBanit24 said, the Hakeem Nicks comparison is valid.

Ankle injuries can sometimes become more complex during next day surgery. A lot of times the swelling hides soft tissue damage.

Also there are serious mental issues with ability to use it properly again.

Realistically I think it hinders him to a degree next year.

Im going to avoid I think

Going to go out on a limb and say it's a non factor next year. We're talking almost 9 months until camp opens.

If he's a starter, pretty much meaning Williams is gone, I don't think the ankle effects his fantasy draft status.

off hand, if he's around when I look to take my 2nd WR and I have my 2 RBs and QB or TE, I'll look his way. So I guess that's the 5th round.

:lmao: writing off his 2011 already

He'll be gone in the 3rd.
:lmao: I agree with this and it may be too rich for my blood. Too uncertain with Austin still there and Romo still trusting Austin so much. Is there enough to go around? Will Dallas have a bigger emphasis on the running game next year? Dallas' draft should be OL in the 1st 3 rounds, at least.

Will Roy Williams still be there? He has shown he can still play at a high level this year. If catches are split between 3 wide receivers then even if Bryant is good, he'll probably have more down weeks than the other guys drafted around him.
It is shocking for me to say this, considering my stance since he landed in Dallas and this year, but I hope he [Williams] stays. I think he's a very valuable addition to the rec. corp.

Glad I grabbed Miles on the cheap during the Dez hoopla - not sure when either will go but I like Miles over Dez for next year as well

It is called "risk/reward", a very basic but important part of FF.I think he will be a late 3rd / 4th rounder.
