Weird, I have Marvin Gaye and Fugees songs on my mix. It's almost like we have a similar theme.
And damn, Doo *** is 18 years old now.

They did the traditional New Year's Eve show in SF. Small venue (SF Civic) but not a particularly good one. They played here last November.Dead and Company coming to Fenway!
Ms. Lauryn Hill - still crazy after all these yearsWeird, I have Marvin Gaye and Fugees songs on my mix. It's almost like we have a similar theme. And damn, Doo *** is 18 years old now.
never heard despot or even heard of him8.09 - Despot - House Made of Bricks (2015)
This little piggie has a house made of bricks/huff and puff ##### you ain't blowing down ####
8.09 - The Walkmen - On The Water (2008) - You & Me
You know I'll never leave you/no matter how hard I try
Love both of these songs. Despot is an underground rapper who has only released one song and tours with Run The Jewels and El-P and Killer Mike. There's debate over what this song's name even is. I messed up the copy paste function in my browser because I was listening to the Walkmen last night. It's On The Water I want, and has been all night. It's the moodiest, coolest song off of what I feel is their finest, You & Me. I love that album, love this song.
When I was a teenager, I had just moved from Milwaukee in November 1982 - that's a legendary story in those parts.I've posted this before but here's a post-Peter Ham Badfinger playing on a late night horror movie TV show in Milwaukee in 1982.
Here's the backstory and it's a doozy.

i still prefer jonathan fire eaterYes. My favorite of the aughts. I just liked You & Me a little better than Bows and Arrows. Moodier. One of the best songs of that time period. There were only 2 songs I was targeting from 2004 and NV took one of them this morning. Gotta go with this one...
8.17 The Walkmen - The Rat (2004)
2nd pick coming shortly.
I did but have a terrible memory.Guessing you didn't watch Breaking Bad then.i like that badfinger tune. never heard it before.
man that was a great tune. And this one will slot in very nicely alongside Pulp and Suede.
8.06 Manic Street Preachers - A Design for Life (1996)
I think so, actually. I forget how I heard of him - oh it was a remix with Danny Brown and EL-P - but it was only a month or so ago. I just couldn't believe his flow and style. He led the remix track and I thought "well, that's impressive."never heard despot or even heard of him8.09 - Despot - House Made of Bricks (2015)

It played at the very last scene of the series. Won't say any more to avoid spoilers for those that haven't seen the series.I did but have a terrible memory.Guessing you didn't watch Breaking Bad then.i like that badfinger tune. never heard it before.
Weir aged so well for so long, and he looks kinda like booger now. Was it ever said what was wrong with him when he cancelled some shows some time ago?Dead and Company coming to Fenway!
I will never not love this song -- even with the bit about Koreans.Weird, I have Marvin Gaye and Fugees songs on my mix. It's almost like we have a similar theme.

1992 Mary J is looking fine in that music video.Mary J is my girl. Lay off her Taskles
Ain't a damn thing changed.1992 Mary J is looking fine in that music video.Mary J is my girl. Lay off her Taskles
Me and the crew used to do her.8.18 - Bell Biv Devoe - "Poison" (1989)
Yet another enduring dance track. The rest of these jukeboxes are painfully devoid of new jack swing and late 80s/early 90s R&B pop. Let's rectify that and get people dancing. Never trust a big butt and a smile, fellas.
AmenAin't a damn thing changed.1992 Mary J is looking fine in that music video.Mary J is my girl. Lay off her Taskles
I think it was the official parachute pants, high-top fade draft sponsored by British Knights but I might be mistaken.I feel like I did a New Jack Swing run in one of these drafts, but who the hell really knows anymore.
There's a Colt 45 here with your name on it if you change your mindYeah, I've dabbled in that area in other drafts. I've kind of avoided my usual sweet spots of R&B guys, which is fortunate because it's proven to be as crowded a space in this draft as guitar bands.
LOL at BKs. "We got the Kool Moe Dee endorsement, we're set for life!"I think it was the official parachute pants, high-top fade draft sponsored by British Knights but I might be mistaken.I feel like I did a New Jack Swing run in one of these drafts, but who the hell really knows anymore.
And you can have her Bender, as long as I manage to get my massive childhood crush a few rounds from now......1992 Mary J is looking fine in that music video.Mary J is my girl. Lay off her Taskles
Not that I heard. His voice was great before this New Years shows. I heard he was sick.Weir aged so well for so long, and he looks kinda like booger now. I listened to "How Ya Like Me Now" while scouting. Let's just say it hasn't held up as well as Ms. Blige.LOL at BKs. 8.7: "Driver's Seat" - Sniff 'n' The Tears (1978)
Have a pretty good feeling that this will be the only song drafted by this artist.
8.7: "Cars" - Gary Numan (1979)
See comment above.
Assuming he is not on skip, he is up until 4:17.MisterCIA up or is it me?
i like this. We'll see how the snake draft goes tomorrow. If there are lots of skips piling up, we'll move to 2 picks/day starting on Wednesday.
Har Mar looks more like Ron Jeremy with every passing year.More danceable stuff.
My number 2 go to karaoke song. There's a semi-long instrumental break in the middle that's perfect for extemporaneous beat boxing.
Morris Day & The Time -- Jungle Love -- 1984
I'll take that Colt45, Eeph.
Har Mar Superstar -- DUI -- 2004
Great double!.
I would assume that by 2 picks you mean 2 rounds/4songs?i like this. We'll see how the snake draft goes tomorrow. If there are lots of skips piling up, we'll move to 2 picks/day starting on Wednesday.
