Diamond Club seats for MLB games (1 Viewer)

TheIronSheik

SUPER ELITE UPPER TIER
A couple of years ago, my brother took me to a Reds game and we sat in the Diamond Club seats. We were directly behind home plate and (I believe) in the 5 or 6th row. Best seats I've ever had to any sporting event. I felt like I was on the field with the players. You could hear everything the batter was saying to the umpire. The ticket price was something like $190, if I remember correctly. He got them from his company so we didn't have to pay for them.

When I first saw the price, I thought it was crazy how expensive they were. I mean, I realize tickets are expensive to sports, but for half of that price, we could have still got awesome seats. But when we got there, we found out that we got a meal before the game. It was like a brunch, almost. Prime rib and a ton of awesome stuff to choose from in a little restaurant type area under the stadium. And the food was including in the ticket.

When we finally made it to our seats, we found out that we had a waiter who would give us a menu and go fetch whatever we wanted. And all of that was included in the price of the ticket, too. This included mixed drinks. We gorged ourselves like it was our last meal, eating one of everything and pounding whiskey cocktails the entire game.

By the end, it seemed like the $190 was a bargain. And ever since then, I've kept saying I wanted to go back and do it again. Well, this year I looked online and saw some tickets available for the Phillies. Luckily, before I purchased them, I went to the Phils' website and did a little research. It looks like for the Phils, only the first 3 rows get unlimited food. Then the next 5 or so rows get $30 worth of food credit. After that, you pay for your own stuff. Of course, I can't find any tickets on sale for the first three rows.

Has anyone been to any MLB games in these sections? Is it still worth the steep price for the ticket to sit in this section if you're not getting all of the free perks?

Been in those seats a bunch of times (my firm has season tix). The only down side is I had to watch the Astros.

I sat a couple rows behind home plate for an O's-Yankees game a few years ago. They were corporate seats, but no meals or special treatment.

I did witness the Yankees bat boy deliver a note to a woman sitting behind me who was at the game with her son. The next inning she was making phone calls to have someone pick up her son so she could go home with Derek. Best play I've ever seen at a sporting event.

190 is about what they cost for Nats and Reds games too. The only difference is that the entire area gets the free food and beer. No credit limit. Mixed drinks are not included however.

eta they are absolutely 100% worth it especially when they are on someone else's dime.

Every year we get free tickets to the Phils diamond club 4th row behind homeplate. We don't get the free meal but we get our own food services area inside with bar, tvs, variety of food. We also have the waitress.

love those seats. No way I would buy them. However my guess is the face value is higher than the actual cost a season ticket holder pays. My buddy gets flyers season tix and face value is like 100 but he says he pays about half

also I have sat in the super boxes once a the Phillies and that was pretty awesome. :lookatme:

I used to know the Astros VP of Marketing (or something like that.) He used to give us the suite they use when it wasn't in use. Those were good times.

$190? :lmao: These seats are like $5k at Yankee Stadium
That's the price one pays to watch Jeter's corpse.
My favorite shtick with these Yankee Stadium seats is when the prices were first released and someone figured out that you could get the same seats at several AL stadiums plus get two first-class plane tickets, a room in a 5 star hotel and a meal at the best restaurant in the city for cheaper than the Yankee Stadium tickets.

This is good info. We usually only go to 1 or 2 games a year. I don't mind paying for them if they are worth it, but it doesn't sound like I'd get the same treatment at the Bank as we did at Great American Ballpark.

I'm torn on what to do now.

Sat this close for a Blues/Hawks game earlier this year

Price included all food and drink from the Blues Lounge which was located about 10 rows behind our seats.

Sorry I don't know that price, as my mother in law paid for the tickets..........but whatever she paid, it was worth it.

That's awesome!

I'm all for spending a large amount of money of tickets for experiencing something like that. I wouldn't do it all of the time. In fact, I may only do it once. And I'm not talking about spending thousands of dollars, but buying two tickets for $500 is something I would do if it got me an experience I'd remember for my lifetime.

Haven't looked up the prices myself but I believe it's nowhere near $5K at Yankee Stadium, if it was even ever that high. They dropped the prices significantly a couple years back after a year when they went virtually unfilled all season. Even now, at the lower price point, as you'll see on TV no one is in those seats for non-premium games. My brother in law gets into one of those suites behind home a couple times a year through a client and I've seen pictures of the spread...it really is insane. Just mounds of crab legs as far as the eye can see.

The Citi Field suite offerings are of similar quality. That's where so much of this new stadium money has been spent.

I think you put the :lmao: on the wrong sentence there.
No I was laughing at him complaining about that price. I should have put a  at the end of my sentence
I wasn't technically complaining. All I said was that for half that price I could get great tickets down the line, right behind the dugouts. I was simply saying that it was a huge price bump to move behind the plate.

there may be different levels. I know some come with food credits and such. I don't know how all the inner workings of the CBP diamond club work. I just know what we get does not have free buffet

Ah that makes more sense.

They haven't re-priced them? I remember it was a big deal when they opened the new park, made them the butt of some jokes for a while and they had a hard time selling them.

I honestly have no clue how much they are now. Let me check

Yeah, CBP is rows 1 - 3 get free food. 5 through 9 get $30 credit. 10 and up get nada.

Looks like those seats at Yankee Stadium are around $1500 and like someone said above you get access to the Legends suites which has basically all you can eat food, but not normal food, more like gourmet food.

hmm according to this we have a 30 dollar credit unless we are in row 10....

Went to a Pirates game behind home plate w/ some friends back in HS

The price tag for the ticket was around $190ish range and the all you can eat fare was nice.

More recently, my boss had box seats on the 3B line, the price tag was $75 more and not only was it an all you can eat buffet style of your normal game fare, but there was a personal chef who cooked risotto in front of you and cut exotic meats for all you can handle.

It was awesome.

I know for the Orioles they have an All-You-Can-Eat section, but it's in the club level in Right Center Field. Doesn't include booze though, but still, club seats and all the hot dogs and nachos you can eat for $55, pretty sweet.

i can't believe some of these seats come with free food and beer. i go to the diamond club in angel stadium every year because a buddy is a high up dude with the angels. no free booze though :hot:

My regular seats (20 game package) are within arms reach of the diamond club. In KC the Diamond club is around $110 a seat, and my seats of near equal quality, but without the free food are more like $50 a seat.

And at Royals stadium you can bring in your own food (yes, you read that right.. legally)

So I almost always bring in sub sandwiches and peanuts for myself... and I sneak in a flask of bourbon and buy an overpriced soda and enjoy my bourbon and soda.

I have season tickets at Citizens in the "Diamond Club", they are actually 6 rows back and include 30 dollars worth of free food and a waiter. Correct, unlimited food is the first 3 rows.

Anyway, I commonly wind up with an extra set (I have 3 seats). If you want to PM me your email, I'd be happy to share them with you when they are free.

I used to live a few minutes from the park so they'd always get used, but I moved to the western burbs down the mainline recently.

PM sent! Thanks, GB!

Fairly certain this is universal for all baseball stadiums. In a clear bag you can bring any food into Yankee Stadium. Pretty sure everything is okay except alcohol.

Got it and will save it as they come up. Early in the season they get used by me or my clients, but towards shore season, I end up with them more and more. They are free for you to answer your question. Will be in touch broceratops.

Dude! That's awesome! I really appreciate it!

Diamond seats at the Reds games are $300, but I've seen them online for about $200 per. The entire section gets an all you can eat buffet, all you can drink (beer, mixed drinks, soda, water), and once you get to your seats you have all you can eat ballpark food with a waiter. I think you can show up 2 hours before the game too.

ya but who wants to go to Cleveland?

Yeah. This is what we had. It was awesome. Except no one told us about the buffet before hand, so we stopped and got food before the game. We still ate the buffet because we wanted to get our money's worth (even though we didn't pay for the tickets).

Yup. We always stop at Wawa and grab some shorties before heading to the ballpark.

How do you know if they already have tickets?

I'm disgusted by you going Shorti over the much better value Classic.

Gotta leave room for Hatfield Dollar Dog Night and a pretzel or two. It's all about pacing yourself.

Back in the day we would sit in the bleachers at County Stadium for $2 and bring coolers full of beer in with us.
I used to ride my bike to Tigers games when I was a kid, we'd get in for free sometimes but bleacher seats were $4. I grew up out there, learned a lot about human nature and seen a lot of bare boobies thanks to the BYOB policy in the bleachers. People were hammered and having a great time, several beach balls ended up on the field. :banned:

Buddy and I did this last year for a 12:35 Pirates vs Nats game in DC. Bought the tickets on stubhub the night before. $250/per. Front row, center. Right across the aisle from the owner. Took us just over 4hrs door to door from Pgh. Superb buffet before the game. Beers, snacks, desserts all included in price. The Lexus Club overlooks the indoor batting cages and the press room.

Our only mistake was not getting a hotel room and trying to drive back after. DC traffic is hellish and the drive home was more like 6hrs. Plus, we couldn't take full advantage of the free drinks.

All in all I recommend it highly, at least for a 1 time thing. We had a perfect day weather wise, Bucs rallied with 4 in the 9th to tie it, only to get beat by a Harper walk off in the bottom.

Haven't seen those same seats on Stubhub before or since. But I'm guessing selling them was due in part to this, which happened a few days earlier: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/foul-ball-rips-net-behind-plate-hits-woman-063032440.html
