Did a fan just attack Bob Howry? (1 Viewer)

Any witnesses, since apparently this, of all things, isn't news...

After Todd Helton doubled in a run with no outs in the ninth off reliever Scott Eyre, Bobby Howry (4-4) was greeted by back-to-back RBI singles from Garrett Atkins and Brad Hawpe. Then Tulowitzki followed with a three-run homer to put the Rockies ahead 9-8. Howry is the closer while Ryan Dempster is unavailable because of a strained oblique muscle.

After Tulowitzki's homer, a fan charged at Howry. The fan was just a few feet from the mound before security guards tackled him.

Yeah, freakin' idiot.

Because of that tool, Cubs fans can no longer rip on Sox fans for the white trash attack on base coaches and umpires. At least they were attacking opponents!

Another feather in our cap, lost. lol.

BUt seriously, the guy's an idiot. I'm surprised Howry kept his composure.

It's a shame it wasn't 4-5 years ago and it was Kyle Farnsworth on the mound.

Randy Myers was attacked about 10 years or so ago in a very similar situation: he had come on to close the game and got shellacked, like Howry tonight, and that po'd some drunken idiot.

It's funny how ESPN(and most media outlets) is acting like this simply didn't happen, don't quite get their reasoning...legal issues? I mean, we all knew that Tank Johnson was pulled over 3:30 AM this weekend, and we knew about ten minutes after it happened...

He never got to Howry. It will be forgotten by tomorrow in the national outlets and forgotten by the weekend locally.

No, I think it's because these idiots want to see themselves on TV. If they quit showing crap like this, it may stop happening.

That's ESPN's philosophy, anyway. Similar to how politicians think that they can dope Americans into believing their structure of government by controlling the media. If it's what the people see, it's what the people will do.However, people will still be idiots.
