IIRC, it was originally being called an INT, then changed to fumble after video review. That could have just been the announcers, though. It looked like a fumble to meAny way that fumble gets changed to an INT after review today by Elias? One guy I am fighting for the last playoff spot won by 1 point, if it gets changed he loses. Just curious.
No way in hell that was an INT. The ball came out while his arm was back. Pretty easy call if you saw it.i still think it was a INT. his arm was moving foward when the ball released. maybe im still upset that i almost lost bc of that play. KGB was the one who was credited with the "forced fumble". that was a 10pt play for him. complaining completed
That is incorrect. Hass arm was going backwards when it was hit out by KGB. His ar continued through with the motion but the ball was gone by then. It was KGB's omentum that pushed the ball forward. The ref tossed the beanbag on th eground indicating fumble. The only people to originally call it an INT were the clueless morons in the booth. Sack, fumble, fumble recovery in the air, TD.i still think it was a INT. his arm was moving foward when the ball released. maybe im still upset that i almost lost bc of that play. No - no chance in heck. The ball was not raised to be thrown, it was knocked out of Hass' hands before it was raised to be thrown - a ball knocked forward out of a player's hands and directly into another players' hands does not become an INT just b/c it is the QB who was holding the ball.Any way that fumble gets changed to an INT after review today by Elias?
Nope - you might as well give up the ghost. The call on the field and officially in the stat sheet was a fumble - and there is NO basis to change it.Like someone else said, only the idiots in the booth thought it was an INT.wow, thanks guys, I didn't really take a close look at the play, but if it was initially ruled an INT I am sure they will at least take another look at it then. You never know.
It was originally ruled an INT,
It was originally ruled an INT,It was ALWAYS ruled a fumble - the ref on the field threw the bean bag indicating a fumble.
NFL.com's live game stats also ruled it an INT immediately, then changed it to a fumble within two minutes. I'm not disagreeing it was a fumble, I'm just saying the NFL's stats guy got the call wrong. Read my original post. It's a fumble. That's clear. I saw the play. The confusion the Original Poster is having is probably coming from "live scoring" or something on his website. It was originally ruled an INT,It was ALWAYS ruled a fumble - the ref on the field threw the bean bag indicating a fumble.
Only people who called it an INT were ESPN who listed Hasselbeck with 4 INT on the screen immediately after the play. If you saw the play, you can clearly see that the beanbag was thrown.

I believe the ref (behind the QB) only throws the bean bag on a fumble near the LOS.The umpires in the backfield use a different bean bag for INTs - if they even use a bean bag rather than their hats. They specifically talked about that in the booth when debating whether it was an INT or Fumble - one of them said the beanbag meant a fumble and not an INT.FixedMarc Levin said:It was originally ruled an INT,It was ALWAYS ruled a fumble - the ref on the field threw the bean bag indicating a Change in possession.

Seriously? I've never heard that. So they have two different colored beanbags in their pants?
