Did I make a mistake? (1 Viewer)

12 team 1QB read or goto the BOLD for the question….

Had great keepers and the early rounds fell perfect so at that time my team is WAY better than expected so I was able to do a few things I didn’t plan on. My plan was Kyler or Richardson in the 4th or 5th if they were gone Daniels a little the later (2 person keeper so it’s really the 6th 7th rd) with Purdy or Goff as the #2 some time later. Kyler was still there but so was Richardson……. I took Richardson. A few rounds later Daniels was still there….. so again I pivoted from my plan and took him. Purdy was still there.

Richardson and Daniels is awesome and I'm happy with it but Richardson and Purdy was my plan and it bugs me I didn’t follow it. Was it a bad decision?

(The picks didn’t hurt on who I passed on so don’t worry about that. The players I would have drafted I was able to get the following rounds anyway.)

Depends on if you are a risk taker or not. Neither choice is good or bad. One us more risky. If you don't mind risk it's fine.
I don’t mind at all, why I did it. Never expected to have a shot at both in rounds that fit and didn’t bother me. I just couldn’t pass that up. Just never really hear of anyone doing that, was winding if anyone thought it was a bad call over the safe QB backup.

Don't think you can say it was a bad decision. It is riskier than the safe pick of Purdy but has potentially higher upside if he hits. That is why someone would pick Daniels is the potential ceiling with rushing upside.

The one thing you could do is if you are a bit risk adverse is if Daniels has some big games early you could see if you could trade him for Purdy + or a safer QB + if you want off the risk train. Or just ride it for this year and have fun cheering for Daniels. I'm not really wanting in on the Daniels train as my QB1 but as your 2nd QB behind Richardson he could be fantastic.

You have a lot of risk in those 2 QBs but probably some of the highest upside. If it doesn't work out you at least gave it a shot and went big.

Thanks, that was my thinking. It was late enough the draft capital didn’t hurt. I had all my main players taken care of and was pretty sure I’d get the guys I wanted later to close it out. Wanting Richardson/Kyler or Daniels as #1QB I already planed on a 2nd QB spot. My team is solid so figured it was worth it grabbing 2 high upside players like that.

Except week 12. I’m pretty much toast that week. lol.

If they both do what the hype says they will do then you’ll be fine. Purdy has the safer floor but I think Richardson and Daniels have a higher ceiling and can explode because of their rushing abilities.

That’s my hope. I think Richardson is gonna be a great QB (fantasy) I don’t have a clue on Daniels I just loved him last year and want to see if he can do what he did in college in the pros. If he can it’s a monster steal.
