Did I Pay Too Much For Mike Evans (1 Viewer)

Just got Mike Evans in a deal I'm kind of regretting now.

Give: Melvin Gordon/Aaron Rodgers/Alshon Jeffrey

Get Mike Evans/Eli Manning

Already had Dak also at QB. Also have Dalvin Cook/Joe Mixon/Bilal Powell and Martavis/Jarvis Landry/Cobb/Edelman at WR.

I do see that as something of an overpay.  Evans isn't moving without his owner getting a collosal offer, though, so if you want him you will have to pay.  You could maybe have tried to get some additional pieces back, but you probabky tried before accepting this.

Yeah overpay for sure but if you want a guy like that you have to. I'd have tried any of the other WRs or RBs (except Landry) ilo Jeffery or Gordon.

Depends entirely on the QB and scoring rules in your league.

If it's 4-point pass TDs and PPR, Rodgers (or any QB) isn't worth a huge amount more than a replacement-level QB while stud WRs carry the most value of any position, so I'd be trying to do exactly what you did - leverage the name value of a guy like A-Rod in order to land a beast like Evans.

If it's 6-point pass TDs and non-PPR, the value of top-flight QBs and RBs are significantly increased while that of stud WRs are significantly decreased. In that case, you're taking a major hit in downgrading from A-Rod to Dak (assuming Dak comes back to earth a bit and isn't a HoFer in the making) and from Gordon to Mixon, in exchange for a moderate upgrade at WR.

Ultimately you'll always feel like you overpaid to land a true stud, so don't let that cloud your judgment. Hopefully your league parameters are closer to the former set than the latter.

Definitely an overpay.  Evans has the most value of the deal, but man, you gave up a premium QB, a top 6-7 RB, and a top 15-20 WR (with top 10 upside).  I didn't think anyone could make an rich enough offer for me to give up Evans......but wow, I would have given up Evans in a heartbeat for that.

Honestly, I think the Evans side wins. Maybe on paper its an overpay, but I'm a huge Prescott fan, and think he could be on Rodgers level in a year or two, and Jeffery is greatly overrated in my eyes. More 20-30 range than anything close top top-10. Losing Gordon hurts, but your RB depth is greater than your WR depth, so i like the move. Evans is arguably the 1.1 in startups right now.

IMO, its only an overpay if you have a hard time replacing those other points weekly

you will likely come out just fine on you wr and rb points you lost, you will likely lose out on a decent amount of ppg from your qbs, but you can more easily pick up that slack with good team management weekly.

If this is 1 qb, I think you paid a big price but you also got by far the best piece, in the best situation

If 2 qb/ super flex and not dynasty, i like it less
