Did MJD lose the goal-line/short yardage job last week? (1 Viewer)

Lost in the excitement of MJD's first TD of the season was the fact that late in the game, when jacksonville needed short yardage carries it was Fred Taylor/Greg Jones, and not MJD in the game:

4th quarter

1-5-KC 5 (9:51) 32-M.Jones-Drew up the middle to KC 5 for no gain (50-Na.Harris).

2-5-KC 5 (9:11) 33-G.Jones up the middle to KC 3 for 2 yards (59-D.Edwards, 23-P.Surtain). ***** pulled for greg jones

3-3-KC 3 (8:31) 9-D.Garrard pass short right to 86-D.Northcutt for 3 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

then the next two drives are all fred taylor and greg jones. I was thinking of starting MJD next week vs Houston, but if he loses his short yardage job I may have to look elsewhere. Can any Jags homers chime in on what the plan is for the jacksonville backfield?

I listened to most of the game on the radio. MJD didn't see too much action in the whole 2nd half. However, it seems like everyone is getting a shot in short yardage situations. Taylor was unsuccessful on a 3rd and 1 earlier in the game I believe. Jones got a lot of work in the 4th when they felt the game was in hand.

Watching the replay of the game on NFL network on demand. On the TD pass to Nortcutt, Greg Jones was the lone back in the backfield. Greg Jones was also in on the last 2 Jacksonville passes (the same drive where he had a bunch of runs). Maybe I'm overreacting, but I really don't like to see that as an MJD owner.

On a brighter note, MJD on the run is so pretty. On his long run, even though he was juking the KC safety Page, Ty Law still couldn't catch him from behind. On a few other plays he just doesn't go down, even when he's hit by big guys. He's like a little bowling ball.
