Direct TV versus Dish (1 Viewer)

Told Comcast to go screw themselves and looking for options. Can't get Fios in my area and looking at these other two.  Dish is a lot lower but haven't heard much about them. Don't need super fast internet, just cable.  Anyone have either of the two and can chime in?  Much appreciated!

Have had dish for a long time and never had a problem. You can't get the NFL package that direct has but other than that i don't have any complaints. As far as where to get your internet, i have no idea.

Thanks. I see that Dish offers internet now on their site.  Don't mind not having NFL since I'm usually at the bar.

Had dish for awhile now.  Huge fan.

No comment on their internet, I wouldn't know.

I've had both.  Dish is generally cheaper, same quality, and has the Hopper which is AWESOME.  It also has the RZ channel for NFL which is more than enough.  DirecTV has some great deals when you first start but then gets pricey.  Whole home-dvr is nice and it has some better options/interface + Sunday Ticket but isn't nearly as good with mobile viewing (i.e. the Hopper).

I typically switch after 2 yrs to get new customer discounts (had both dishes on my roof) so I don't think either one is that much better than the other that I'd rather stay.  The savings make it worth the switching.

This PlayStation Vue for $55 a month is basically a cable subscription isn't it?  With less channels mind you.
55+ channels for $30. Another 30 or so plus locals OTA for free. No contracts, no strings, no rate hikes, no scrips to deal with crappy customer service, no taxes, no equipment rental fees, no installation, and no ugly dish on my house.

Sling tv is by Dish and Dirtectv's competing streaming service launches later this year.
