Sorry if this is the wrong forum. It seems like the past two weeks my direct tv keeps pausing or something right as big plays are about to happen. It happened last week on a couple of big plays and this week on several big plays so far. Is this just me or is it happening to others?? I havent noticed it happening at other times but it seems to be happening alot during some big play's.

OTA HD antenna. Looks beautiful... no interruptions.

OTA HD antenna. Looks beautiful... no interruptions.I do have a HD receiver but why / how will the antena help?? I am truly confused. Is it because the games are being broadcast in HD?? I do notice that my regular channels look worse now that I have a HD receiver. I called and complained and got some reduced costs for some premium channels.

An OTA (over the air) antenna is terrestrial. It has nothing to do with satellite or Directv. You are simply picking up the HD feed from your local affiliates. As such, you get a MUCH cleaner transmission.I have one of those giant old contraptions Radio Shack used to sell. The little crappy Terk antenna never worked very well for me. I'm in R.I., and I pick up HD channels from Mass, CT and even some northern N.E. states as well on a clear night.

Just so you know your equipment is not bad, I noticed this at my brothers today. I only noticed it once and that was the first catch by D Jax in the Seattle-Caro game. The players got into the set position and stayed there for 4-5 sec, nothing moved anywhere (sideline, defense, etc), but the audio kept going. About the time the announcer stated "Jackson with the catch" the picture came back with Jackson trying to juke two defenders.

I think that was a problem with the Fox feed, cause I have Comcast and had the same thing happen to me.

Had the same problem. Don't think your Direct TV had anything to do with it.
Personally I think it's the HD technology. They're still working out the bugs. It happen all through the BCS games as well. Little stutters, hiccups, pauses. Plus you'll notice some really slow graphic overlays from time to time.

Yep- this exact same thing happened to me. I was watching on my non-HD receiver at the time.
