I know, I know, another Denver RB thread. But, we're on the eve of the season and the real stuff starts now. Speculation is replaced by real, vivid football games that matter. We've seen the pre-season shake out. Shout out here and voice your opinion. Many of us have just drafted this guy. :o

If you think he'll keep the job, tell us why.

If you think he'll lose the job, why?

Injury?

Fumbling?

Poor blocking / blitz pickup?

Poor performance , run skills?

Surpassed by another runner? Cobbs? If you say another guy emerges, you have to predict who.

Toss up stat predictions if you have them. Even games played if you think he'll get hurt.

And by the way, sorry for yet another Bronco RB thread but this is fantasy football. It wouldn't be FF without Skeletor causing us massive amounts of anxiety and the occasional nervous breakdown.

75% ish for me. that just means he's getting the majority of the carries in a particular game

the 25% uncertaintly is based on the chances he fumbles multiple times and loses the job.

70-79% was my vote.

Give him 1 injury week, 2 weeks of RB shuffling to keep people guessing, and week 17 as they will already have a play-off spot locked up.

I know he's fumbled at least once this preseason. Anymore I missed?
i think it was only once but honestly i haven't followed that closely.i had griese in his good year with Den and could barely get any info on his injury status (shoulder, IIRC). lost b/c i started him and he missed the game so i generally avoid den players, but i did end up with rod smith on a couple of teams though.

Everyone knows this is all a ploy to motivate tatum. I would not expect it to last more than 16 weeks.

lol at the votes for 100%
why? What makes you think he won't last in the "Mike Anderson" role? There is ZERO evidence thus far that MBell won't get a significant # of carries. Anyone voting anything other than 100% is purely guessing.

A shocker, Shanny hasn't named a starter for Week 1. Even if Tater starts I think we'll see Mike Bell in there plenty. Cedric Cobbs is the darkhorse. It will be interesting to see if Skeletor would go so far as to play 3 guys at TB.

Is M.Bell the goaline man?

I'm assuming yes.

How many of you guys who have Mike Bell, not neccessarily Tatum, have Cedric Cobbs for a "backup" in the Mike Anderson role?
I have MB, but will be trying very hard to get Cobbs after the week 1 waiver wire. I just hope he does nothing in the first week to warrant attention.

just dropped QB4 (have Culpepper) to get Cobbs, Shanny not naming starter made me nervous :hot:

MBell has been at the top of the RB depth chart for a month. I'm not sure what has happened since he was first named the #1 RB that would cause him to lose his spot. MBell may not succeed in that role, but he certainly has the role to succeed in right now. Has every other team "named a starter" for game 1? Isn't it pretty much implied that the #1RB on the depth chart is the starter?MBell may not be a great #1RB, but he currently is a #1RB... something Tatum never has been.

Excellent assessment. I think Mike B owners are praying he plays well.

I own both Bells, I got them both cheap. My money is on M Bell (65-70%). But either in the worst case senario I end up with the 14th Best RB and the other might just be a waste? Here are how the Den RBs have done the last 4 years.

RNK Player

2005 - good enough to start both in a flex or deep league

10 M Anderson

22 T Bell

2004 - Worst performance year

14 R Droughns

47 T Bell

2003 - Top 5 RB

5 C Portis

50 M Anderson

2002 - Top 5 RB

4 C Portis

43 M Anderson

So I think that using a 5th and a 6th (according to the ADP) is worth it knowing that you will likelly end up with a 1rst or 2nd round player, and most likelly his BK.

Now if Cobbs wins the job, I am screwed.

I don't think he will to start but I think he's the obvious #2 back behind Mike 1a and Tater 1b.

I did the same thing and I share your sentiments. Please don't be Cobbs.
