Yeah there's no way I'm getting on those things. A whole bunch of families should be asking for a whole bunch of freebiesSkyliner stuck for an hour and a half now. Family stuck on it on twitter saying they are getting cranes out to take people down. Whole lot of nope.
It’s taking hours to get people out. What would they do in the middle of the day in August? People could legit die. This is a fiasco for Disney.Yeah there's no way I'm getting on those things. A whole bunch of families should be asking for a whole bunch of freebies

I am reading four free tickets and 200 dollar gift cards. I would sign up for that.Yeah there's no way I'm getting on those things. A whole bunch of families should be asking for a whole bunch of freebies
I'd be telling them all about my emotional distress and asking for a free week at a nice resort.I am reading four free tickets and 200 dollar gift cards. I would sign up for that.
I would think that she gets paid from Disney. My sister just became some kind of Disney certified travel agent. I guess people that don't have access to @glvsav37 pay people like her to plan every little minute of the vacation.
I have been there several times since it opened up, and fast passes are never available and the line is too long for me.Did my fast passes for my Dec trip and was able to get everything I wanted pretty easily.....except the Mine Train. Shocked it's still so hard to get FP for it so many years after it opened.

We go pretty often and I don't think the posted wait time has ever been close to correct. I wouldn't sweat it. It's typically a 45-60 minute wait regardless of what the app says.Did my fast passes for my Dec trip and was able to get everything I wanted pretty easily.....except the Mine Train. Used to be much lighter crowds but last year we went and the park was PACKED.Going next Friday to MK for the Halloween Party. Any tips? These are separate tickets, my wife says they clear out the park that afternoon.....is the party crowd in the evening much smaller than a normal Friday night? I know these nights sometimes/usually sell-out.
If you can get there 30 min before opening and go to the Mine Train first you shouldn't have more than a 10 minute wait. Last year we didn't have a FP so I booked breakfast at the Beast's castle for 8:15 (9:00 MK opening). After breakfast they let us get in line and we walked on without any wait at all.We go pretty often and I don't think the posted wait time has ever been close to correct. I wouldn't sweat it. It used to be a tried and true strategy for any E-ticket ride/attraction but with the new FP system I've had mixed results. All things being equal it's still the best strategy for a ride you don't have FP for and want to ride.If you can get there 30 min before opening and go to the Mine Train first you shouldn't have more than a 10 minute wait. My daughter and I went last year (first week of September) and it was not so bad. Most rides were walk ons except Mine Train and it wasn't hard to get good spots for the parades and shows. Probably gets much worse as you hit October though.Godsbrother said:Used to be much lighter crowds but last year we went and the park was PACKED.
@glvsav37 recommended one of those folks to me for our trip (flying out of Philly on Sunday-kids are literally bouncing off the walls) and he was friggin' great. Made every fastpass, ADR, coordinated tickets, hotel, pickup from airport, made recommendations for restaurants, and generally answered every question. Disney pays him, not us, so, well worth the price! My sister just became some kind of Disney certified travel agent. Cool...glad Stephen was able to help you out. I know you were sweating the details at first. Fifty bucks for a buffet dinner is absurd.Saw this tweet over the weekend. Its really crazy how the price of things have gotten out of control at Disney.

Character Lunch at Tusker house in 2011 for a family of 4 was $68. Today that same lunch is $172.
Thats neat. I keep seeing these VR head sets and wonder what I would ever need one for. Its cool things like this are coming out.If I can promote a friends page:
Here with the Magic
He is producing fully immersive 4k videos of different WDW park locations. They are 360 view videos where you can drop it into your VR headset and enjoy a quick escape into the parks in really high def quality. Even if you don't have a headset, the videos are still spectacular and a nice escape—esp given we are getting into the cold fall up here in the north east.
We went to the Halloween party last Friday and I thought the crowd was pretty light. Maybe just depends on the whether you go in Aug or Oct (maybe Fri vs Sat night). Regardless...Used to be much lighter crowds but last year we went and the park was PACKED.
According to the email I got a week or so ago, yes, you’ll need something other than firestick/tv to get the app. There was some vague language about continuing to work toward more access points, but nothing specifically about Amazon. I plan on getting a rokuAre Disney and Amazon still in their pissing match? Disney+ was threatened to not be available thru FireStick/FireTV a couple months ago. Really don't want to have to get a Chromecast or something else just to stream this one app
honestly i'm looking forward to the special and non-movie programming. Apparently they have The Rock doing a show about behind the scenes and stories of attractions. And they are doing a cast member documentary series. I doubt you'll get the 'our CMs are living in squalor' slant that some recent documentaries have shown, but it should be an enjoyable watch.I'm thinking DIsney+ is going to save me some money. I used to never buy movies online, but my kids freaking love them now. I've shifted back to where I actually enjoy watching a movie now. Unfortunately I've been suckered into buying a digital copy of pretty much every marvel, disney and star wars movie that has come out in the last 4-5 years. Looks like pretty much everything I need will be on this.
Thats why it was so noticeable. They were overwhelmed by the crowds. I asked a staff member and she said they were 10,000 over what they estimated. The staff that were there looked stressed and stretched thin. I dont know how they could underestimate that badly for the first holiday weekend after the halloween stuff went up.Damn @Scoresman I'm not that familiar with DCA, but your first paragraph doesn't seem like Disney at all.
I've yet to hear anything about SW's that makes me wanna head down now. What I miss most about Disney at the moment is just hanging out in Pandora/AK. We had 2 or 3 really fun nights where we ran around the park and ended up in Pandora just before sunset. The wife and I just sat on a bench listening to drums and had a few drinks while the kids ran around banging drums and what not.
More and more I’m thinking we are pretty much done too. It was a run.Disney just lost me. They got me, but lost me.
It used to be as a resident you could buy a 4 day pass use two days in nov/dec and then make a second two day trip in Jan/Mar. sure it’s a few bucks for the four days but you could justify it as two trips and Disney made a few bucks knowing you would be back.
now it’s asking for what day you arrive and now you have 10 days to use the 4 tickets...... unless you want to buy a ticket upgrade which lets you use the tickets between now and Feb 29th for an additional $300 total.
Sorry Mickey I’m not playing this game anymore. Going to SeaWorld in Saturday and I’m buying a one day hopper pass for Sunday even though its cost prohibitive on a $$ per day basis. I’ll be finding somewhere else to take the family in February and spend the $1500 or so elsewhere.
they can charge it because they can get it, I understand this.
Sweet. I don't know how often I will use it. Is it really a big deal?glvsav37 said:Verizon customers can get a free year of Disney+

Thank you sir. That will definitely come in handy during college basketball and college baseball seasons. It comes with ESPN+ if you care about any of those games, shows, or articles. You'll also get all the movies Disney+ offers.

Hopefully more people agree with this and they change things.More and more I’m thinking we are pretty much done too. It was a run.
It’s worth about $8/mo for just disney+ subscription. They are bundling it with espn+ and Hulu for about $13/mo (I think). I already have Hulu and don’t care about Espn, so I just went with the base subscription. They were offering a deal to Disney Visa card holders that I jumped on.Sweet. I don't know how often I will use it. Is it really a big deal?
Here's the thing - I can justify going 4-5 times in a year versus just once. If you get an annual pass and stay off property you can make each trip fairly reasonable and in line with other trips. If you just go once and stay on property and with the dining plan then it is a pretty crazy amount of money.Hopefully more people agree with this and they change things.
We've been out for years now, but will probably give in within the next year or two for the obligatory trip while our kids are young. I'd prefer to not have to take a second mortgage for a vacation, DW is crazy expensive with 5 kids.
Yet, friends of ours go 4 or 5 times each year.![]()
They might have an annual pass, we haven't asked. $1200 is still more than I'd pay per person but it does look better that way, if you just do Airbnb or something like that. I don't think that's what they do, but it works better. That's still low 5 figures for my family each year. You make a good point though, I can actually see how that could work. Here's the thing - I can justify going 4-5 times in a year versus just once. Fair enough, we're eager to get back to our place (the beach), but whatever you can afford that makes you happy. Also, it's all relative. It's expensive but if somebody is bringing in say 200k+ then it's not THAT crazy.
Who am I kidding, I'm full of crap, I'm already trying to figure out how to get back down there.![]()
On the same December date of the movie release, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will be adding new destinations inspired by the latest episode of the Star Wars saga at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort.
It’s been two years since Star Tours received new sequences, with Crait and Batuu added back in 2017 and Jakku added before then in 2015. Disney will be sharing more details in the future.
