***Divisional Round Game Thread*** Baltimore at Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Sloppy awful half, ill be back postgame to congratulate the ravnes fans, I might not even watch if they feel/like mailing in the 2nd half too

one thing I said in the pre-game thread - Steelers played on Thursday night in week 16 and then killed Cleveland in Week 17. They've played one game in 23 days, and it was non-competitive. Whereas the Ravens had their best game of the season last week @ KC. Pittsburgh just doesn't look as sharp as Baltimore.

Best player on the field so far has been Suggs - by far. Second-best might have been Flacco, and the Ravens O Line has been very strong. I think the only sack came on an unbalanced line when they had their third-sting tackle in there. Don't do that again!

Ravens - keep passing. Great game plan so far.

So let's take a quick look at this game. Baltimore had under 100 yards of offense - but they did have a short field twice.

Two long PIs set up touchdowns, followed by a direct TD on a weird turnover and another short TD after a fumble.

Neither offense is really moving the ball consistently, but the Steelers have to be encouraged by their last drive even if the kicker blew the FG.

Pittsburgh needs to come out and score on the opening drive then dial up big pressure on Flacco.

Baltimore needs to play solid defense, run the ball even if they aren't picking up first downs (to run clock) and get three points to make it a 3-score game.

This is going to be a very interesting second half.

I think the Steelers are toast. Just awful. I thought they made a statement scoring the first TD, but the wheels have come off badly. This feels like the Jacksonville game a few years ago...they might make it interesting, but still come up short. I'm depressed.

Ravens have had the lead in the 4th quarter of all 17 games they've played so far. But they blew 4 of them by getting too conservative on offense, just going three and out and counting on the D to hold on.

STAY AGGRESSIVE ON OFFENSE!!

Saw in another thread that the Steelers got a "huge break" that Rice was sick last night, yeah huge break my ###. Some people in here way over react to every little thing, nice call man...

Everyone expected the Ravens to win the battle of field position and that's what's happening. The key for the Ravens is to keep doing that. Pin the Steelers' offense up against their own goalline, and force mistakes.

Agreed.I would add that the Steeler's need to start putting pressure on Flacco. I think the Raven's oline's impressive performance is one of the key factors right now. If they protect Flacco in the 2nd half like they have in the 1st, it's over, imo.Raven's play calling on offense has been excellent as well.

Big stop there by Baltimore. Now they have to walk the fine line on offense between conservative and too aggressive. A turnover here puts the Steelers back in it, while 1-3 first downs and 5-6 minutes off the clock is a positive result.

Nakamura had a free shot on Ben in the 2nd regular season game and got shrugged off, followed by a Ben pass to the 2-yard line.

This team is so much better prepared and focused now. First series of the 2nd half will tell the tale. Let Joe Throw!

Steelers just getting consistently outplayed at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, and that is really the difference in this game.

I still think the Steelers can come back. Steelers D should step up on the next few series.

Problem is Steelers O line is getting owned by Suggs and company.

Steelers D made a nice adjustment to the Ravens O - rushing 4. Not getting great pressure but covering the receivers and screens.Time for Cam (who has been maligned as OC this year) to adjust and either start running or doing something else that works
LeBeau killing Cameron now. Ravens need to go to the run or find something that works. Steelers rushing 4, getting pressure, and covering all targets

If Stallworth is on the field - you know the end around is coming.
