DJ Hacket's Role This Week? (1 Viewer)

With Branch out last week, Engram convinced the team to move him to the #1 spot, with Burleson starting as the #2.

Now that Hacket is back, does Engram move back to the slot, where he's very effective? If so, does Hacket move to flanker or #2? If Engram remains the flanker, does Hacket start in place of Burleson?

why start a new thread on this???

First of all, Hackett may not even play this week . . .

second - Burleson may get benched anyway . . .

I did a search on Hacket, but didn't see anything specifically on this topic? Sorry, if I missed it.

This is assuming Hacket is playing.

Weird, when I searched for Hackett I got threads titled "Hackett Time:expected to play vs Rams", "Seattle homers: Is Hackett playing" and "Holmgren:starting split end job up for grabs"If those don't cover your questions, I dunno what will

I got:"Deion Branch Injury Update""Who are Your TOP 5 Value Picks for QB, RB, WR?""FBG Subscriber Contest Strategy""boooooo""Non Shark league 10 teams...10th pick""DJ HACKETT = BUST""Hackett or Jacoby?"If I didn't do the search correct, cool, help me out. No need to be a smart-###. I'm here as a fantasy football geek, not an internet message board geek. The posted link above was very helpful.

I click on "search", type in "Hackett" and press return.

In looking ahead I want Hackett to rest until after the bye. That way he will be at full speed and starting for the second half.

Gil Haskell reticent to talk about DJ Hackett

Posted by Frank Hughes @ 04:07:34 pm

When we spoke with offensive coordinator Gil Haskell about the receiving corps, he was hesitant to say anything about DJ Hackett and how he fits into the plans this week. Haskell essentially said he did not expect Hackett back this week, and he has been limited so far in practice, so he does not have a clear indication of what Hackett is going to be able to offer. I would say there is a chance that Hackett gets shelved this week because Haskell said he was sore this morning after only one day of practice, but they want to see how he does tomorrow before making a firm decision.

I also spoke with Courtney Taylor after practice, and he seems pretty jazzed to be getting the opportunity they are going to give him. What exactly that is remains to be seen. But he said he has learned so much from his teammates in the relatively short time he has been here that he wonders how he ever survived before without the knowledge. Mostly, he said, it is about awareness, and if a defender is doing one thing, it means he is trying to accomplish a certain thing, or force a receiver to do a certain thing. He is easily the most gregarious of the receivers, very funny to listen to.

Regardless if he plays this week...do people agree that he does have value as a WR3 moving forward? Or is that even off base?

I actually find this interesting. He's progessing in practice. He's not taking a step back. Infact he did more in practice today than yesterday. He didn't practice in full yet. But this gives me every indication that his ankle is holding up.

Does this mean he will play this weekend? I have no idea!

"Seahawks | Hackett limited in practice Thursday

Thu, 18 Oct 2007 18:48:33 -0700

Seattle Seahawks WR D.J. Hackett (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 18, and he could play Week 7. He ran patterns during practice Thursday and saw more significant action."

So he did individual drills yesterday. Ran patterns today. Could mean they are ready to give him a full practice tomorrow.
