Weak-side linebacker D.J. Williams suffered an unspecified injury to his medial collateral ligament on Miami's long fourth- quarter touchdown drive and was on crutches after the game.

There's no immediate timetable for his return, according to coach Mike Shanahan.
It'll be interesting to see what the MRI results are today (and if we get them). There have been instances of LBs playing through MCL injuries (Mike Peterson comes to mind) in the past, but the early notes would suggest that's unlikely. Generally, these average four weeks of rehab, though a completely torn MCL will likely be a longer than four week rehab.Broncos are already a mess here. With the 3-4 they've been running in passing situations, it's hard to know who benefits the most here. I think Webster and Winborn probably benefit about equally with a bump in pursuit tackles. It'll be interesting to see if Wes Woodyard can hold up in the base defense at 6'1", 212 lbs. Should be good news for whomever works themselves into the safety rotation full time, too.

Broncos WLB D.J. Williams (MCL injury) will miss the next three weeks in a "best case scenario," according to the Denver Post.

Denver is now without both of its starting outside linebackers after Boss Bailey was placed on IR. Williams was tied for first in the league in tackles through eight games and his loss is massive. Jamal Lewis should have no trouble running against the Broncos on Thursday Night Football. | 11/3/2008 4:02:00 PM

Is Jamie Winborn worth starting over the likes of Stewart Bradley vs. NYG?

My opponent this week has Jamal Lewis as his main weapon. I was thinking Jamal will run wild against the DEN run D and that should keep their lb corps in the tackles. Yes or no?

Winborn has value for sure, by default basically. I see the Browns running the ball alllll day, especially it being Quinn's first day starting on a short week. I see the denver LB's having an enormous amount of chances to make plays. I'm starting Jamal Lewis and Nate Webster with nothing but confidence.
