DL Osi Umenyiora, New York Giants (1 Viewer)

In his press conference, Coughlin referred to Osi as "week to week" and the giants 3rd DE Jason Tuck as "day to day" which would move Kiwi up to the depth chart.

Smart money is on Osi missing at least one more week.

Accorsi said when he was questioned about the Kiwi pick (not being a position of need with Strahan, Osi and Tuck already in the fold) that you can never have enough pass rushers. I guess he's right.

Edit to add:

Costly win for the Giants with injuries to LB Arrington (Season), DE Osi (week to week), DE Tuck (day to day), and CBs Madison and Walker (both questionable although Walker practiced today while Madison did not).

Q: Have teams been doubling Michael Strahan at the line of scrimmage and do you expect to see more of that without LaVar Arrington and Osi Umenyiora on the field. Do you think he is going to get a lot more attention?

Coughlin: “I don’t think there is any question that he will get the attention on certain protection schemes whether or not the two people that are assigned are up on the line of scrimmage, or there is a chipper coming his way. But for sure they will be doing some things to try to effectively protect the passer from Strahan.”
