DL Terrell Suggs QUES will he play? (1 Viewer)

Big Log

Footballguy
Just wondering if we could do something similar to the Shark Pool and post anything in regards to his playing status? The last update we have is from the Blogger:

September 28, 2006, 11:00 Ravens :: DLDE Suggs QuestionableEdward Lee, Baltimore Sun - [Full Article]DE Terrell Suggs’ hamstring injury is worse than originally thought and the Ravens could be without its pass rushing specialist. Suggs did not dress for practice yesterday, despite downplaying his injury earlier in the week. Jarret Johnson would start in Hartwell’s place with second year end Dan Cody possibly seeing the field as well.

Here is an article from yesterday about Suggs saying he is a GTD..

Pro football:Ravens' Suggs, Reed miss practiceKey defenders questionable for Chargers game; Redskins' Brunell practices, should play against JagsBy the ASSOCIATED PRESSOWINGS MILLS - Safety Ed Reed and outside linebacker Terrell Suggs were held out of the Baltimore Ravens' final practice of the week with injuries, and both are listed as questionable for tomorrow's game against the San Diego Chargers.Ravens coach Brian Billick said the two former Pro Bowl defenders would be game-time decisions.Reed has missed the past two practices after injuring his foot. If he can't start, he would be replaced by Gerome Sapp.Suggs hasn't practiced for the past three days, after injuring his hamstring during last Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Jarret Johnson has taken over at practice for Suggs with Gary Stills and Dan Cody rotating into the lineup behind him.

I have him as well, you can check kffl ten minutes before kickoff and it will give you the inactive list for every team. Plus you could go to the Ravens web-site and check.

It's also been reported in the Shark Pool that Steve Cohen thinks Suggs will not play.

The inactive list should be out within the next 45 minutes.

(Rotoworld)

"Ravens beat writer Mike Preston speculates neither Suggs nor Reed will pass up the chance to play San Diego"

U gotta think he does not have his normal burst of speed and is a risk to aggrevate the injury after having not practiced all week.

I think that's a legitimate concern. Could also be that he's a vet that knows the scheme very well and the Ravens didn't want to risk anything other than him getting in and out of the whirlpool. He was apparently walking well early in the week without a limp. This is going to be a heck of game to watch. Unfortunately, despite living in AFC North country, I'm apparently about to be subjected to IND-NYJ.

Suggs is questionable again this week. Anyone know if he practiced today, or what the prognosis is? I know he played last weekend, but according to the stat sheet he was largely ineffective. TIA.

Haven't heard anything yet. Suggs said he was fine last week, but the fact that they held him out of practice all week suggests something was going on. Hamstring pulls or thigh bruises (I've heard both) can be lingering things and both will impact Suggs explosiveness. There were rumors that he played more of a decoy role last weekend. We should hear about whether or not he's been practicing by Friday. The usual sources haven't been updated with Wednesday's news yet.

So it looks like Suggs practiced on Friday. Will he be used as a decoy again this weekend, or can we actually expect some stats from him?

It sounds like Suggs will play, the question is how effective will he be??

Heap, Suggs expected to play against BroncosOriginally published October 8, 2006Tight end Todd Heap and defensive end Terrell Suggs did not practice yesterday, but the former Pro Bowl players said they will be ready to start when the undefeated Ravens play the Broncos tomorrow night in Denver. Heap and Suggs, both of whom have thigh injuries, were the only players who remained questionable on the Ravens' injury report. "I don't know what percentage I'll be at," Heap said, "but I'll be playing." Heap, the team's second-leading receiver with 19 catches, has scored a touchdown in each of his past three games. Suggs, who is tied for second on the Ravens with three sacks, has not been sidelined in his 52-game NFL career. "I'm fine," Suggs said. "Before you ask whether I'm playing, ask yourself this: Has Terrell Suggs ever missed a game?"

I don't like it. My AOL league lists Shaun Phillips as a DL instead of an LB, and I have him on my roster. I think I'm going to have to stick with someone else until Suggs shows he is playing more than a decoy role when he's out there.

Thanks for the update Log.

Any new updates!? My week depends on a decent score from Suggs.
The pinned thread isn't getting any love for the same reasons the Sunday AM pinned threads don't get any love until the pregame shows/inactives list come out.We just don't have any information to go on. Teams don't practice hard in the 48 hours leading up to the game so we've got the Thursday/Friday practice information and that's all. The posts quoting Sunday's newsrags and discussing Suggs' practice condition are in this thread. We'll probably hear more during the pregame shows and I'll keep on eye on the inactive list for you.

Terrell Suggs is active. I suppose he'll start. How effective he'll be without practicing this week and with the weather issues pending is hard to say.

guess no one cares.
There you go, guy. Pretty good start. :banned:ETA: Looks like he's moving without any trouble to me -- running down screens and pursuing to the sideline. Think we'll both be pulling out a win with him this week.

Here we go again?!?

Published Wed Oct 11 6:47:00 p.m. ET 2006 Ravens DLs Haloti Ngata (back) and Terrell Suggs (knee), both questionable, missed at least a team portion of practice Wednesday.
As we saw on Sunday night, Suggs toughed it out and started off great in the first half but was a non factor in the final 30 minutes.

At this point, I'm hoping they sit him this week so that he can have this two weeks to rest before they have the Saints in week 8.

That was my thought as he limped through the second half against Denver. However, he practiced today and was upgraded to probable on the injury report. Start at your own risk.

The problem is that I'd have to drop Shaun Phillips (listed in our league as a DL) to play him. Guess I'm heading to the coaches corner to see if that's a good idea. Thanks Jene.

I'm new to IDP, so I'm not sure if the curve is different for defensive players as opposed to offensive ones, but I'm wondering when its time to cut bait with Suggs? Yet another unimpressive stat line yesterday.

I'm thinking of giving him one more chance, to see if he can get enough rest over the bye to be effective against the Saints. If he can't get it done then, am I crazy to drop him (I know this is kind of a WDIS question, but it seemed to fit here)?

Anyone planning on hanging onto him regardless, or are other people cutting bait with T Sizzle?

I'm in a smaller league (10 teams), but I have cut him. It's a salary cap league and I had him at a big number. I was able to snag Alex Brown and Robert Mathis off of the waiver wire and freed up plenty of cap space at the same time.I guess it all comes down to your alternatives on the waiver wire.
