DMC after Houstan (1 Viewer)

For those who want to unload DMC, IF Darren McFadden has an impressive showing agianst the Texans who are you going to target for a trade? I'm so lost with his value, I think he is a dud with Russel at QB, and I dont think he is worth anything other than a bye week filler at best. However, my oppinion on him may be part of the frustration of owning him and counting on him to produce RB2#'s, so someone who doesnt own him may look at him as more valuable then I, expecially after a big week (if it even happens).

So my main questions are, has his value been lost so much he isnt worth trading even after a big week (the players you could get for him have less upside then him)? If you are going to try and unload him, who are you looking to get in return? Is he a guy who you will have to package in a deal in order to get a trade done?

My best thoughts on unloading him is to trade him to a frustrated owner of someone who has been injured, like a Bowe or Welker. However, like I said, my interpertation of his value is so skewed between what I thought he would do to start the season, and my opinion now of him being unworthy of rostering.

Please discuss......

Well, I tried to trade him this week and pitch the “He’s going to explode against Huston” angle and NO bites. Everyone came back with … That’s a big “if”, Bush stealing touches, have you see the games after Hou (@NYG / Phi / NYJ / @SD / BYE) and most importantly … MCFADDEN! Due to his upcoming schedule, I don’t think it will get any better after this week (if he does well). So, he will be sitting on my bench filling in for byes and the occasional RB2 start against poor Ds …. unfortunately. (I count my blessings every day for drafting Benson two rounds after him)

Really, one of the few opportunities to unload McFadden is if he has a big "breakout game" against Houston. I'm hoping for 2 scores and 100 + yards rushing to put him back on the radar - then dump his ###. You can't sell him yet until he does something great.

My enticement is to package a trade in order to upgrade my RB situation in one league. I may have to give up ... say a McFadden / Greg Jennings to get a Westbrook/Jacobs/Slaton/Benson/P. Thomas - Housh/Welker/Walter type. Might be a stretch. Since our team is deep with WR's I might give McFadden and Ocho for one of the stated "stud" RB's. Whatever it takes...

The point is - you can't win with inserting McFadden. J Russell sucks :lmao:

If McFadden had a huge game and his owner came to me...I'd give him waiver wire fodder and nothing more. Not remotely interested in the guy. But that's just me.

Exactly why I avoided DMac when he was a rookie and beyond... he has talent, but the team that drafted him looks pathetic. How could people not see this coming?

You did this wrong. You don't want to pitch him on the basis that "he's going to explode against Houston" because then you're alerting everyone to the fact that he's going against a weak rushing defense. Then you get them looking at the rest of his schedule, and discounting whatever he does this week as a fluke. You want to just quietly put him on your trading block or make a handful of offers this week, and hope he blows up on Sunday. Then you hope an owner sees the stat line and doesn't recognize that he only went nuts because he was playing Houston, and takes McFadden off your hands. You want to put him out there this week so it doesn't look like you're only trying to trade him after he blows up; if you make offers now and then he blows up on Sunday you have more leverage (or at least the psychological appearance of more leverage - e.g. "I was willing to trade him but now that he had such a good game I'm not sure," etc.)You basically said to your league, "Hey guys anyone want this scrub? He's no good, but he's playing a weak run D this week so you should take him off my hands because he might have an uncharacteristically good game this week!"

I have always felt D McFadden was a fast over-hyped marginal NFL talent RB. His college career was made against soft defenses like South Carolina and Kentucky. He is fast, no doubt. But how does he hit the hole? How does he turn the corner? I have not seen enough of him in the NFL to gauge his effectiveness or capability.

Is it his OL? Not IMO. But it's difficult for the OL to clear a lane against a 9 man box.

Maybe the play calling is the problem. We all agree that he has a very "talent limited" supporting cast. These are short term problems. In Dynasty, I say he is a buy.

But for the short term, I like M Bush better. His college stats at Louisville were against marginal Big East talent. But the broken leg set him back so far that Al had to have the next Draft Day flavor of the day regardless of the other pressing needs.

Hold D Mac in Dynasty. His current value is not equal to his talent, but more a representation of his situation.

I own DMC in a few leagues. I'm not opposed to trading him for the right value, but the right value isn't there.

From looking at the posts here, it sounds like the best move is to be trying to steal DMC on the cheap.

DMC isn't great and the Raiders/Jamarcus really stink. We all know this.

There are other factors though.

1. The Raiders can and will run the ball.

2. DMC is their lead ball carrier.

3. He should be more involved in the passing game going forward, though he's still on pace for 32 catches. He's involved in the passing game some now, but I'd think he'd be getting more involved.

4. He's got more RZ carries and targets than his backfield mate.

5. He's got a fumbling problem, but that's less of an issue b/c this is the Raiders. In OAK, bad play doesn't equal less opportunity.

6. Jamarcus Russell can't remain this bad all season, esp. if Chaz gets back and in shape anytime soon.

DMC has value going forward. I think his actual value exceeds his perceived value, which sounds like the equivalent of waiver fodder right now.

Am I biased as a DMC owner? Probably, but it really doesn't matter to me if he gets it turned around. He's my RB 4/5 in all the leagues I own him.

Yesterday in my PPR w/ IDP league I traded McFadden and Burleson for Lynch and DB-Atogwe. The McFadden/Lynch part of the deal was a last second "prayer" addition to the original Burleson/Atogwe trade discussion. Thank you FFGods for answering my prayer!!

i tried unloading mcfadden this week to several other people and got the same response......"We'll talk again when JaMarcus gets benched."

This really does seem like it's reaching the point of ridiculous. We're talking about DMC and the fantasy world won't shut up about Jamarcus. It's comical how awful he looks at times, but he's certainly not the only bad QB in the league.

It's also happened in the past that teams with bad QBs have had a strong running game. Hell, a team has even had a strong running game with Jamarcus Russell at QB. OAK was #10 in total rushing yards AND YPC in 2008.

Yes, Jamarcus doesn't help matters, but you can still run the ball. This season, you know the historically bad one, apparently, OAK has BOTH more rushing yards and a higher YPC than ATL, IND, PIT, SD and CHI. Those teams all have quality RBs and outstanding QBs.

I'm not saying DMC is great, but Jamarcus will not ruin him. There's probably value to be had while everyone's caught in the midst of "Jamarcus sucks" hysteria.

Jamarcus will hurt the TD production, but DMC can be decent with a touch of upside.

I sent him away during the off-season in all my leagues expect one... and lucky for me hes under a decent contract for me there so it'll be a little easier to ship him out. But he would need a Chris Johnson like game in order to get a good deal IMO. Your not going to get much until he strings 3 good games together.

In 16 career starts (one full season), McFadden has rushed for over 50 measly yards in a game TWICE.

Nobody on this offense is "exploding" unless they are guest starring in a MacGyver episode.

According to Jeff Garcia the effort of teammates is the problem.

Really?

05 @ USC - 13 for 88

05 @ Bama - 8 for 95 and 1 TD

05 @ Auburn - 13 for 108 and 2 TDs

05 @ Georgia - 31 for 190 and 2 TDs

06 vs Bama - 25 for 112 and 1 TD

06 @ Auburn - 28 for 145 and 1 TD

06 vs Tenn - 30 for 181 and 2 TDs

06 @ LSU - 21 for 182 and 2 TDs

07 @ Bama - 33 for 195 and 2 TDs

07 @ Tenn - 22 for 117

07 @ LSU - 32 for 206 and 3 TDs

You must not have watched him play to make such a ridiculous statement. McFadden made a living out of shredding good defenses with 9 men in the box all game.

RunDMC has got talent. Anyone who watched him in college knows that BUT the cards are stacked against him this year. ( I own him in my league for full disclosure) . Russell can NOT throw. so teams stack the line. Russell cant seem to ( or does not want to) even throw dump offs to him in open space where he would excell ( think Chris Johnson , Reggie Bush) and M Bush gets 40% of the carries so Dmac is not getting alot of carries. and with the fumbling Bush will see even more, thats only natural. SO what do ya expect from a guy who has stacked lines , fumbles and shares carries. Dmac is what he is. A talented back stuck in a bad situation. By the way I can also say the same exact things about M Bush. He is a incredible back with as much talent as Dmac. same principles apply . I Bush or Dmac were on another team they would both be doing well. If the Raiders make a QB Switch and get Chaz back. and give one of them ( Dmac or Bush) 85% of the carries then onb of them can do well.

 I guess one big game this year is to much to ask, and now it looks to be a three headed monster with Fargas getting his touches.

What a waste.

I bought prior to this week and started him over Bush and Leon in a PPR league. Brutal.

I cannot fathom anyone using this guy in any format. His only value is a killer playoff schedule, but as we know...the only teams it will be killer for are those facing the Raiders.

I have had it with him (and the Raiders in general). Pulled the plug finally and kicked him to the curb for Jerome Harrison.
