What other cloud vendor could you choose? Amazon is pretty much the only player in the game - at least if I'm spending $600M.
The CIA should just use the NSA cloud server in Utah that can save 50 years worth of global emails.  While they are at it they may find 33k yoga emails.

Every post of yours is now read in my head as Milhouse talking about Reverse vampires.
"We're thru the looking glass here people..."

Dodds losing his grip on reality is mind boggling. Guy is obviously very intelligent and always seemed to have a healthy outlook and worldview. I'm still not completely ruling out the possibility that this is all shtick.

I hope this is true.

OSCE victim of cyber attack

The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe has been the target of a cyber attack, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

The French newspaper Le Monde said a Russian hacker group was behind the attack, but the OSCE, a security and human rights watchdog, said it did not have the capability to investigate the report.

"There was an attack. We found out about it at the beginning of November," a spokeswoman for the Vienna-based OSCE said, confirming a story published in Le Monde.

"The systems are safe now. We were given entirely new security systems and passwords," she added.

An unnamed Western intelligence source quoted by Le Monde attributed the hacking to the Russian cyber espionage group known as APT28. That same source told Le Monde that the group was also behind attacks on the U.S. Democratic party leadership during the U.S. presidential campaign.

Looks like you bailed.
Be reasonable about it and lets talk.  You said there might be something wrong with a person's brain who believes in conspiracy theories. So I'm curious where the leap is?  Distrust of media and police is through the roof, but to think this distrust goes deeper is a conspiracy???

I know you've got a 35 page manifesto in you.  Share it!  I'm not equipped to figure out why people dive into conspiracy theories, which is why I asked if anyone was aware of any real research on this.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mossad was behind the hacks.   This has been the most anti-Israel administration ever, so they definitely didn't want 4 more years.  All they would have to do is get on a Russian spam server.  Hell, they could have set up a server that was made to look like typical spam server, and named their fake hacking group after the most commonly associated animal with Russia, so dumb Americans easily take the bait.

So Israelis are smart and Americans are dumb.  Got it.  Please tell me more of your spam hacking theories.

Wow what a tool Sabertooth is, ignore.  Poor guy sounds miserable.

I guess you two Nostradamuses know exactly what happened.  I'm just in here speculating, no need to get your panties in a wad.
You define getting panties in a wad by someone observing that another person chooses a conclusion then imagines evidence to support it?  Okay, man.

It's speculating.  Is that wrong here?  It's a message board dude.  People post about their farts and stuff here.

Right.  I thought you speculating was devoid from thought.  So that's me getting my panties in a was, according to you.  If that's the case, you are hypersensitive.

Yep.  I'm a plant.  Been slow playing it since old Yeller.
Not you, this "Quez" guy.  Always trying to downplay Russian involvement and spread ridiculous anti-Dem conspiracy theories.  Plus he's got that generic football coach avatar going.  He does a good job of sounding like a regular FBG, talking about how you're a "tool" and how all the people who discuss the Russian hacking are wearing "tin foil hats," but i think his cover is blown at this point.

Dodds is a microcosm of a Trump presidency. Seemingly intelligent and successful at one point and now raging conspiracy theorist. Finds himself in position of power with the ability to suppress speech and disappear people.

It's really not enough to ask who had a motive. Someone a while back posted a decent article explaining why it was not necessarily the Russians. That's it, I've seen one article. If I could dig it up or remember where it was I would post it for the sake of argument. I did not find it persuasive, because it treated Russian metadata like it was the flu that had been caught by servers somehow, but it was an attempt. Take a shot at at least finding articles to back up your assertions. That's not a challenge, I just mean that in the sense of maybe we can learn something here. Right now all the technical reporting and journalism is pointing to Russia.

Still no interest in finding out why DHS hacked state servers.
DHS did not hack GA's servers. There was a breach attempt traced to DHS. It's been discussed, but it's an isolated incident. GA itself described it as "penetration testing or security scan." Feel free to post a link. It doesn't seem unreasonable to me to imagine that DHS was testing firewalls because GA refused their assistance during the election.

There's A reason political threads here deteriorate. It's sad.
We need more people like you that add thoughtfulness and, intelligent topics.

Just kidding around, obviously.

But for real, if you have one post, just one, where you add anything of substance to a political discussion, I will apologize and retract my observation that your post is comically ironic.

Just one, buddy. Just one.

Trump on Russia Sanctions: 'We Ought to Get on With Our Lives'

President-elect Donald Trump, asked about possible sanctions against Russia in the wake of alleged cyber-attacks during the presidential campaign, replied "I think we ought to get on with our lives."

"I think that computers have complicated lives very greatly, the whole you know age of computer has made it where nobody knows exactly what's going on," Trump told reporters outside his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

"We have speed we have a lot of other things, but I'm not sure you have the security that you need," Trump said. He added that he has not spoken with senators who have called for sanctions.

The comments come as the U.S. is said to be preparing to take retaliatory steps against Russia after political institutions were hacked during the presidential campaign. Those steps could include sanctions.

- I have to say, I'm maybe not for sanctions at this point. It is too reactive and Obama is just leaving office, he's practically out the door.

But this is the worst kind of obfuscation by Trump, he's really running interference for the Russians. To say 'no one knows exactly what's going on' when it comes to computers is absurd. There's a whole industry built around knowing what's going on called Computer Forensics.

Honestly he sounds like Caveman Lawyer here. ('Your world frightens and confuses me.')

Trump seems like the least curious and inquisitive leader since the Know-Nothings. Worse still, his loyalists seem willing to indulge him.

His loyalist are single issue voters on an issue a president has minimal, if no control over whatsoever.  (And I'm not talking about getting rid of the brown people)

Him and W. Both seem like two dopes interested in very little.

Trump in himself. W in balls of yarn and chasing lasers on the floor.

Trump on comments this morning on "computers" and hacking

“I think we ought to get on with our lives,” Trump said Wednesday, according to the pool report. He was at his Mar-a-Lago resort, standing next to boxing promoter Don King. “I think that computers have complicated lives very greatly. The whole age of computer has made it where nobody knows exactly what is going on. We have speed, we have a lot of other things, but I’m not sure we have the kind the security we need."

Returning blue collar jobs?  I really don't know.
Yes.  Those that weren't just in it for the racist angle were in it for blue collar jobs. And the president has nearly no tools to work with on that topic at all.

The issue of security to most people is so complex that they don't care to process the implications.  They just want to be able to afford their cell phone bill.

It's all a bunch of tubes invented by Al Gore. I'm sticking with my trusty abacus while the rest of you wander around trying to figure out what's going on.

When Trump can't understand something then clearly it means that we need to move on or nothing happened.

Think we are seeing why his people have hidden him from questions for months. When he speaks beyond prepared remarks it gets pretty rough for him.

Did I hear he is writing his own Inauguration speech??  Maybe he should just let Melania come up with something...

Posters aren't good at filtering BS. Instead they attack and accuse. What's the point in engaging in people who already have their minds made up. It's sorta like arguing on youtube.

It comes to the point of people arguing...for the sake of arguing.

Does he mean that computers have complicated our lives?  Or that the lives of computers are complicated?

They need to be more open-minded?  Like you?

Must be a lot of your posts where you changed your mind then.

That's a perfect analogy.  Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer.

I don't want to get lumped in with a certain group of folks but I will say I've had my doubts regarding the certitude of the Russians being behind the attacks.  I suspect it most likely was the Russians but I still do have some doubts that probably stem from watching the Viceland's Cyberwar show on the Sony hack.  It was basically reported as a given that North Korea was behind the attacks, the FBI even stated this to be the case yet there are a lot of folks with a lot more knowledge than me in regards to hacks that have very serious doubts North Korea was behind it.  Again, I believe the Russians were mostly behind the hacks but I don't ridicule those that have doubts.

Here is a link of the overview regarding the Sony hack and I highly suggest checking out Cyberwar on the Sony hack as it is interesting on its own outside of using it to discuss the DNC leaks.
