I'm not sure this forum is the right one for the question, but...
Has anyone taken a look at whether or not turnover margin and sacks from the first half of the season are correlated with turnover margin and sacks for the 2nd half of the year?
I'm working on a defensive FF Pts model, but only one of the componenets correlates from year to year for the same team's defense. Which makes the model only somewhat useful for picking a defense in the draft.
But now I'm wondering if you might be able to get a jump IDing this year's version of the 2005 Bears by tracking the model-important stats early in the season.
Which leads to the question above... do takeaways, giveaways and sacks correlate across a first half/second half season split? If no one has this...do you know where the data might already exist?
