Do the Bills have a punchers chance tomorrow? (1 Viewer)

I mean, the Pats are a juggernaut right now, but intra-division games can be tricky. For the record, I don't see it, but I'd love to hear someone make an argument FOR the BILLS tomorrow. The should have beat a medicre Denver team week 1, and probably were worn out from the Everett stuff last week. 0-2 with a chip on their shoulder versus a Pats team that flying? Could they come in over confident? What could the Bills do to take it? Pats are favored by 16 1/2 last I looked, which is pretty big for the NFL.

Edit the bills, correcting late night posting.

This should not be close. Which is the reason I am playing Lynch for garbage time runs late in the game when this should be decided by halftime.

This game could definitely be close, but I don't see New England losing. By "close" I mean within a touchdown for most of the game before a late field-goal puts it away or something.

Or the Bills could get blown out. But division games can be tricky, like you said. I can see the Bills putting up a fight.

If it was a creampuff from outside the division, I'd say stay away. But this is a creampuff from within the division, and the Pats just don't seem to lose these.

That said, I steered clear of the Pats in my pool. This is sort of a sandwich game - SD last week, Cincy next week. Plus Pitts should make short work of the niners.

Good luck with your picks, everyone.

yes, they do have a chance. i'll tell you what it is:

the pats are already starting to get the 16-0 buzz going and the pats are looking a 3 game division lead in week 3 if they win. i'm sure it annoys the hell out of belichick and he'd do about anything to keep his team focused on the present. the bills' only chance is if it belichick decides throwing this game is the greater good.

cameragate is the wrinkle in that plan though. belichick is pissed, the players are pissed. they are on a mission to destroy everyone. belichick will risk a loss of focus later on to destroy everyone and even if belichick thought throwing the game were a good idea, he still wouldn't be able to prevent the players from destroying the bills.

(i don't think belichick would ever throw a game, but that would be the bills' best punchers chance)

Can you imagine the mass bedlam around here if the Bills somehow win and the suicide contest drops to twenty guys. Could it happen? Sure it could. You know what they say: "On any given Sunday..." :goodposting:

Of course they have a chance. The Patriots have been going through some crazy emotional swings of late and could be looking ahead to he Bengals. The Bills have to be motivated at the huge line.

The Patriots have looked amazing, but it's possible that the Jets and Chargers are overrated. The Bills have looked decent so far.

Divisional game? Sure the Bills could win. I'm not a gambling man, but if I were I would take a hard look at the Bills in this one, straight up or taking the points.

this should be a very interesting game, imo, despite the spread. My thinking is that New England is completely fueled by the cheating scandal, and should have something to prove in every game. Id expect they'll try and blow everyone out. But, it kindof goes against their thinking in that a win is a win. Theyve played 2 '06 playoff teams and won big. Buffalo is looking like a doormat. So lets see if there's any letup with the Pats, and they put in on cruise control at any point. I dont think they are looking to embarass anyone, just prove a point. Its tough to stay focused like that with than kindof chip on the shoulder for a full schedule, but you never know with these guys. Theyre pretty focused. So, if its a close game, then we'll know theyre not sweating the scandal as much as some may think. If they win another one by 20plus, Im expecting a relentless onslaught the rest of the season. Somewhat generalized thinking, but just tossing some logic around. I think Buffalo may make a play or 2 today, but it really shouldnt be close. But will NE drop 40 on 'em? Cant wait to see.

thats a really interesting point about Belichick's interest in keeping the team's focus. But I have a feeling the more this team wins and the longer they stay unbeaten, the more focused theyll be. Theyre still playing without 2 of their D captains, Seymour and Harrison. when they come back, the charge will only grow.

NE has a dominate 215 selections in the contest. The 2nd most popular team is perhaps PIT (52). By estimating, 80 selections were not NE or PIT.
