Darrelle Revis: 5'11, 204lbs, 4.38 40-yard dash, 6.56 3 Cone

Opposing WRs:

Andre Johnson: 4 catches 35 yards

Randy Moss: 4 catches 24 yards

Justin Gage: 4 catches 37 yards

Marques Coleston: 2 catches 33 yards

Ted Ginn: 2 catches 57 yards 1TD

Lee Evans: 4 catches 68 yards 1TD

D. Heyward-Bey: 2 catches 28 yards

D. Bess: 4 catches 18 yards

Mike Sims-Walker: 3 catches 49 yards 1TD (I heard Revis was not covering when TD was caught)

Going through I really am amazed at the shutdown ability of this kid.

Is he the new Asomugha?

Thoughts on matchups down the stretch against:

Week #11: Randy Moss II

Week#12: Steve Smith (CAR)

Week #13: Lee Evans II

Week#14: Tampa Stovell/Bryant

Week #15: Roddy White

Week #16 (Bowl): Reggie Wayne!

This statement completely sums up 95% of this message board. Why dont you watch the games instead of "hearing" things

He's VERY good. As close to a true "shutdown" corner as you'll find in the league right now. He's particularly adept at rerouting WRs with physical coverage at the line. I do think that the Jets tend to "cheat" safety help over the top of him when he's playing man against deep threats like Moss that keep him from being vulnerable to double-moves but you could say that about a lot of great CBs over the years.

I really like the way he plays.

The real test will be this week vs. Moss with a healthy Welker out there. I think that helped him shut Moss down in week 2. If he does it again, he has shut down status for certain....

The Jets also got a TON of pressure on Brady in that game. A CB's best friend is a good pass rush. If Brady has all day to stand in the pocket, I don't care who's out there at CB.........they're gonna have a long day.

i would imagine it is because this option isn't a viable one. If the information is correct, who cares if he "heard" it from someone? If it isn't correct he will quickly be corrected.

Teams still throw at Darelle. I watch him every week, and he's very good. But he is not the game changer Asomugha has been for years or Champ Bailey used to be. Nnamdi has only been thrown at 12 teams all year (97 yards, only TD surrendered was the V-Jax fade route in the MNF DH week 1). Revis lone TD was a deep route to Ted Ginn - but he has faced 53 targets (23 completions, 238 yards), so its not like he is so ridicuosly good that its not even worth trying.

As an aside, I am somewhat amazed at how many FFers have seen little or no actual game footage of players they have on their teams. To me their is no substitute to doing your own scouting.

While Nnamdi is an elite corner, you've got to admit that part of the reason why teams don't throw at him is because they simply don't throw against the Raiders in general. Their defense has faced the 4th fewest pass attempts and the 4th most rushing attempts. When your defense gives up over 150 yards per game on the ground, people aren't going to throw the ball against you that much.

Finnegan is just as good as these guys and should be mentioned whenever the term best corners in the game come up. Finnegan is so important to the scheme the Titans run. He does not always stay on the teams top WR's, but is every bit as important to his team.

Wk 1 : 13-10 they loss to Pitt... Finnegan had 9 tackles and 1 assisted, and 1 pass defended, 1 int

Wk 2: 31-31 loss to Houston... Finnegan was ok in this game, 4 tackles

Wk 3: 24-17 loss to NYY... Had 3 tackles and hurt his hammy

Without Finnegan

WK 4: 37-17 loss to Jax... No Finnegan

Wk 5: 31-9 loss to Colts... no finnegan

wk 6: 59-0 loss to NE... no finnegan

Finnegan comes back

wk 7: win 30-13 against Jax... 2 tackles, 1 assisted, 2 passes defended and an interception

wk 8: win 34-27 against SF...7 tackels, 1 assisted, 1 pass defended and an interception

wk 9: win 41-17 againast Bills... 4 tackels, 1 assisted

He is a one of the more physical corners although he is not big, and is a really good tackler.

He wasn't. It was either Lito Sheppard of Donald Strickland can't quite remember but it wasn't Revis.
It was Sheppard. Not only did he play poor coverage, but he completely messed up the angle on the tackle, enabling MSW to score the TD.
Basically the exact same thing that happened against the Bills with Lee Evans' TD :excited:

I would disagree with you about Revis not being a game changer. Look at the numbers that elite WRs have put up against him. He's almost completely shut down Colston, AJ, Moss, TO (not that he's elite anymore) etc. Also, with the stats you mentioned, that's a 43% completion rate and 4.5 YPA. I'd say that turning every QB that throws at you into JaMarcus Russell makes you a game-changing player

I don't get this. Unless people have direct TV with NFL Sunday Ticket, you can't watch the games of your fantasy football players at will. I watch the games available to me, I record them and look at how my players do but it's unreasonable to expect people to be able to watch a good amount of footage on all their fantasy players. There's just some teams that don't get broadcast in the area. Of course, if you have red zone you can watch them score and you can catch highlights on sports center but I'm assuming that would be the same as "little game footage" and you wouldn't get a clear picture on how your player is doing.

Yes because people with lives can watch 12-15 hrs (if you blitz through the recording) of football every week.

LOL gimme a break. People watch the games that are on TV. I can't even get direct TV in my apt, If I wanted to. This better be your profession if you are breaking down game footage of all the players you own on all your teams, otherwise you probably live a dull life.

IIRC, Nnamdi will stay on the right side of the field, and not follow the opposing team's #1 WR around. Revis will blanket the WR1 wherever he goes. To me....more credit goes to Revis since he has the more difficult assignment throughout the game.

That is because he follows the best receiver of the other team no matter what side of the formation he is on. Asomugha only plays one side of the field anddoesn't follow the receiver. If I was an offensive coordinator, I would line up my best receiver on the other side of the field and throw that way because I

know the best cornerback on the field would not be covering him. That may be why fewer balls are thrown that way.

As a fantasy owner facing Randy Moss in two different leagues this weekend, I hope the REVIS factor is in full effect.

So next up after New England is the Panthers. I own Steve Smith and I am seriously considering benching him and playing one of the Jets WR's Cotchery or Edwards. Revis combined with the Delhomme affect is too much for me to deal with.

I will definitely be sitting Smith.

He is as good as advertised. Hard to say he's better or worse than NA or Finnegan. These are guys that change game plans, and any team would be lucky to have one.
