Do you own a gun? (not a gun control thread) (1 Viewer)

If yes for question 1, do you have a concealed carry permit?

2 50cal muzzleloaders

1 .243 bolt action rifle

strictly a deer and waterfowl hunter; guns don't get used much any more since I prefer the bow. 4 of the 5 were my dad's, so I'll never get rid of them.

I have a bunch, don't shoot them much. I went through a guy-buying phase years ago (kind of like tattoos).

In fact, I have a Kimber 1911 (second one) that I never shot yet had for about a year or so.

I have a CCW, don't actually "carry" much but use to leave one in my car all the time. I don't do that anymore because I'm in and out of DC all the time; got tired of double checking to make sure I left it home.

Now they mostly just sit in a safe.

Actually thinking about selling off most of them; seems stupid to just have them sitting around.

Yes.. Bond Snake Slayer (derringer) .45/410 shot shell

20 gauge pump shotgun (Mossberg)

yes on the concealed permit

S&W Hammerless .38 Special w/ Crimson Trace for concealed carry

Sig Sauer P250 9mm for range practice and home defense

Browning Auto-5 12 gauge for hunting

Remington 700 ADL .30-06 for hunting

Bushmaster E2S Modular AR-15 because I can

I own a decent pile of guns. Various rifles and muzzleloaders for hunting, couple of pistols for plinking, bunch of shotguns for trap league and the occasional hunting trip. No concealed carry.

Mine:

Barrett .50 BMG
SKS Rifle
Bolt-Action .308
Springfield M1A
1911 .45 ACP Handgun
Remington 870 12 Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun
9mm Handgun
Ruger 10/22 Rifle
AR-15

I used to own a couple of guns. I had a Ruger Super Blackhawk 41 magnum that I really liked. Had a 1911-A1 45 that was a great gun to shoot. Had a no name 308 rifle for hunting. But I decided to get rid of them due to my wife's struggles with depression.

Yes - I own 5 handguns, and one rifle. I have a NY concealed carry permit, and a Utah one as well. Legal in 30+ states total. I carry almost all the time.

My guns:

Ruger 380 LCP - main carry gun. Small, light, and I feel .380 is plenty for self-defense. Love this gun.

Ruger 357 LCR - Bought this to carry - ended up being too bulky most of the time. 357 out of this really hurts. Practice with .38 instead.

Taurus 38 Special - My first handgun. Nothing special. It's the "bedroom drawer" gun.

Browning Buckmark Camper .22 - Superfun, long barrel target pistol.

Ruger SR22 - Average size .22 handgun. Fun to shoot. Might carry it when hiking or something.

Rifle is a .44 - was my grandfathers. It's loud and powerful, but I like handguns more.

How did you get rid of them, did you sell them?

I sold them to a long time friend who always coveted the Ruger and took the others to get it.

I have the 357, too. Thing kicks like a ####### mule. I let my buddy shoot it one time. He's a pretty stocky dude with a low center of gravity but was in no way prepared. Fired one round, his hands flew back up over his head and he stumbled backward. One round was enough.

Buddy of mine has a .458 winmag pistol. Not something I'm interested in shooting more than once in a lifetime. His .50 Desert Eagle is much easier to handle.

Buddy had a 454 Casull Ruger Super Redhawk. That thing definitely had a kick.

Well, I was making a comparison between you with your fists and the guy with the sword. Like you, the guy with the sword was probably a real bad ###, but the guy with the gun actually prevailed because he had a gun. Real man or not, there might be a time in your life when a gun could come in handy. Probably not, but some people like to be prepared.

New here?

There is nothing badass or manly about Tanner.

Cleveland 588 Wedges -52,56, and 60 degrees. I am deadly within 100 yards.

No CCW, but I am considering a range card.

Miraculously, the # of 'no' replies from question 1 equals the # of 'i don't own a gun' replies from question 2. An FFA first.

Own a few

Ruger .45ACP

Remington 700BDL 7mmMag Bolt Action

Remington 7600 .30/06 pump action

Mossberg 835 3.5in 12 gauge (turkey gun)

Winchester 12 gauge

Have in my possession a Winchester Model 94 .30/30. It is my Dad's cousin's rifle but we have had it for 30+ years

Have had a CCW permit twice but let the 2nd one lapse

AR-15

2 glock handguns.

I am just kind of waiting around for the civil war so I can start having target practice at the radical muslims and liberals..... :excited:

Nope. Not a hunter so it would be for protection.

The reality is that having the gun likely poses more of a threat than whatever I am protecting against. Very safe area blah blah.

Where do you shoot your Barrett?
Buddy has like 25 acres. Not an issue

Although they are not in my possession in nyc I own 2 rifles and a shotgun. The 1911 Winchester 22 is a beautiful thing handed down by my great grandfather and I'm betting the only gun in the FFA that has shot someone. Since that day I don't shoot anymore and will get rid of all mine but the 22 and my dad's when he is gone.

No.

I can handle my problems with my fists like a real man.
Like this guy?

No. I'm aware. I'm just not as good at the sarcasm thing.

Per the FBG Gun Owners thread, I have enough guns to make an NRA lobbyist blush. Have a CCW but have carried twice only. So much fun to go shooting with friends.

Grew up with a lot of guns. Only own one now. 12 gauge that my grandfather gave me that was his grandfather's. My buddy is a cop and we go shooting with his sometimes.
