Never on a cheese steak.

Hot dogs are 1) stadium mustard, 2) skyline, cheese, onions, yellow mustard, 3) ketchup and yellow mustard (usually because thats what im putting on my 5 & 6 year olds).

Grew up near Philly: wiz, without, and will add ketchup.

But never, ever on a hot dog.  That's mustard only.

When I was much younger I would put ketchup and mustard on my hotdog - thankfully I  grew somewhat of a brain and now only do mustard.  I try to never eat ketchup now because of the sugar content.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a person put ketchup on a cheesesteak.  I've seen A1, Heinz and mayo but never ketchup.  Seems so odd to me.

Hot dogs get mustard and maybe onion and chili for me.

Well, what was it?  That nobody should drink alcohol?
AAAbattery made the comment that people shouldn't consume any added sugar.  I assume he made this comment for health reasons.  By that logic, no one should be consuming alcohol as well (for health reasons and the extra calories that aren't needed).

I voted "hot dog only" by mistake. Never on either. Can't even imagine putting  ketchup on a cheesesteak. Gross.

What do all you anti ketchup people use in general? I never knew that there was such a thing as condiment snobs before.

Yep - but ketchup is kind of gross and alcohol is delicious so there's that factor too.  :)

Putting mayo on a cheesesteak means it's no longer a cheesesteak.  It's now a meat and mayo sandwich.
I have no opinion in the cheesesteak/mayo thing.

Though, I do have a particular annoyance about mayo on Patty Melts. At the restaurant, we have a number of different "melts" (including a cheesesteak melt, actually). The staff is always asking people if they want mayo on them, which irritates me a little. Once you go throwing mayo on it, it's no longer a melt, it's a grilled sandwich.

The mayo thing bothers me a little, and if it stopped there, annoying, but fine. The real problem is that the mayo thing inevitably leads to lettuce, tomato and mayo. I mean come on. Here I am trying to produce a good melt with a magical marriage of melted cheese, meat, and the proper grilled veggies you are going force me to screw the whole thing up with all this other cold crap? It's a real tragedy.

Sorry, just had to get that out.

If you're going to eat a typical hot dog, do these things really matter?

:lmao:  And the amount of people that are washing that crap down with a nice carbonated soft drink.

I don't condiment-shame. There are combos I don't like, but I just quietly puke out of sight when I see them used. Fly your freak flags, you mayo-on-cheesesteak nutballs.

you're pretty old as I recall ...and you've never had a cheesesteak?
Yes, never had one, neither has my wife.   Don't usually  eat at fast food restaurants and when we do always order off dollar menu.  So basically never had a big mac, whopper etc.  I'm cheap.

I put ketchup on my ketchup.

Pretty sure I've never had cheesesteak. If I did it was probably some cheap version years  ago that shouldn't count. Yeah, I know.
