I guess it all amounts to what kind of League you're in...
...don't know how many people remember this, but during Gibbs' first stint with the Redskins, he brought an aging Gerald Riggs on board, who evolved into a designated 'Touchdown Scorer'. His yardage stats weren't anything to write home about, but over 78 carries in 1991, he scored a whopping 11 TD's over 16 games.
Perhaps given the last couple of seasons, Anderson was acquired as an 'insuranc policy', just as PJ Daniels, a back in a similar mold was brought in as a 'future investment', as that type of back is consistent with the rushing offense philosopty in Baltimore. One might say the Ravens are even considering extending a healthy Lewis' production by limiting him from that sort of close quarters pounding by employing a back who's bread and butter is exactly that. Like Riggs, Anderson is a back with a nose for the end zone, and I believe he was brought in by the Ravens primarily for that reason, and will be used accordingly.
In Leagues where TD's are weighted over performance, there might be draft day scenarios worth considering where passing on Jamal early, if value exists elsewhere, and nailing Anderson late, at extreme value, is the way to go...
...just something else to consider.
