It's Friday.

If this had been a mass shooting, it would have made bigger headlines.

Question still remains, how did the psyc patient obtain the gun?

Psychiatrist Lee Silverman may have saved lives Thursday afternoon, when a patient opened fire in a suburban Philadelphia hospital.
it appears an outpatient psychiatric patient shot and killed a caseworker before the doctor, who was carrying his own weapon, shot the patient. Authorities said they did not know why the patient opened fire

I'm withholding judgement until Burton weighs in.
You'll just have to hear my real self instead. The story's kind of sparse at the moment, but if the facts are true, then it's a good ending, and a fine justification for those who argue that guns, and especially concealed carry, can save lives.

If however as a result of stories like these the argument is to be made that the amount of guns in our society is a net positive- personally, I can't go there. I wish we had far less guns. I am not proposing any legislation to make that happen but I wish it were so anyhow.

I also wish there were less crazy people in our society.

I think we can all agree on that.

Awesome.

Bump for the no guns crowd.
Maybe we could review how many people were victims in senseless or careless shootings and then see which came out on top for that day? I am going to bet senseless/careless wins.
Care to elaborate? I can see this taken so many different ways. I wanted to see where you are going with this before commenting.

Yeah, how can you even compare the two?

If a responsible person with a concealed weapon was around in the majority of these mas shootings, the death toll would be dramatically lower. I really don't see how you can deny that.

Amazing that this thread would be 5 pages now if the doctor didn't have a gun. Now, 14 replies and it's on the 2nd page.
