Dodgers Moving Nomar to 3rd (1 Viewer)

Loney couldn't do worse than Betemit's .190, and it lets Wilson pinch hit, where he appears to be most comfortable this season. Glad to see the Dodgers giving a young player more playing time.

Best move Little has made all year. Loney has been on fire since being called up and the Blue needed to find a way to get his bat in the lineup. Not a bad first game last night after taking over the starting gig at 1st, just a Trip shy of the cycle.

I've been waiting for this day since Spring Training.......what more did Loney have to do in the minors (and brief stints with the big boys) to prove he's worth the gamble? When he does get his chances pinch hitting or spot starting for Nomah, he's proven his worth.

I've added this kid in leagues that I didn't need 1B help. Big Papi, Berkman & Delgado (1B, OF, UTI).....Morneau, DLee, & Konerko (1B, IF, UTI). I benched Konerko for Loney when I found out he has a starting spot. That was a no-brainer though.

Matt Kemp needs to get in this lineup. Signing Pierre to that contract was a mistake.
 I'll never figure out why Colletti went to 5 years on Pierre. I liked his moves last season, but so far Ned is 0 for 2007 with Schmidt and Pierre. Hopefully the improvement of the young guys will bail him out.

And he should get credit for that given that his premise all through the offseason and this year to date was that he was not going to deal any of the Dodgers blue chip prospects. Schmidt's been a waste, but I'm still wondering whether they knew or should have known about his injury before they signed him. I'm starting to think Colletti may have been too blinded by his relationship with Schmidt dating to his Giants days to have critically looked at his condition.

I like Pierre, but I can't wait for the day that he and his weak arm can be moved to left field. He also needs to learn how to take ball four.

James Loney is THE TRUTH. :lmao:
Help me out on this kid.His minor numbers suggest he has no power. As a 1Ber, I'm guessing little speed. Are we talking about the next Mark Grace here?Fill me in what this guy's about, that I don't see from his minor league stats.

I don't know his minor league #'s so I'm just basing this upon what I've seen from his games with the Dodgers. He's certainly showed power at the major league level so far. His hitting seems to have power to all fields. I agree he doesn't run well. He also looks like he has the makings of a potential Gold Glove 1B. So far the major league game doesn't look at all too big for him.

Even in the lineup today against the Big Unit, one of the tougher lefty assignments in the game (even at his age). Good sign that they are committed to giving Loney everyday opportunities...
