I had solar installed this year (not online yet, due to PG&E delays, but should be online at some point this month). I want to be able to declare enough tax liability to be able to fully capture the 30% federal tax credit (nonrefundable). Should I adjust my W4 to reduce withholding or is there a better way? I've read that you can roll over unused portions of the credit year-to-year, but I'd like to realize as much of the savings as possible for next year.
