Does anyone here actually win money with Fanduel? (1 Viewer)

The site looks tempting - they make it sound like you can win a lot of money. Just wondering if anyone has had a good experience there or won any of the larger prizes/contests? I heard head to head gives you the best shot because people team up and cheat consistently.

The reason I ask is they have a pretty attractive 100% match on any deposit right now through the 2013/2014 NFL Season (Promo Code DUEL100) - makes me want to give it a shot.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Yes. The guys who own Fanduel and Joe and David do.

10% rake.

If you could be guaranteed to play vs the biggest fish every week you can and will make money. If you are going vs statisticians and touts you have zero chance. Its not a whole lot different then poker in that regard.

I do. Have roughly tripled up my money in the first few weeks largely just playing the guys FBG suggests in their weekly subscriber articles focused on daily leagues / fanduel!

I've heard that if its a multi-person game (3+ players) that two friends will get together and help each other out with info, etc, while the odd man out gets screwed. I haven't signed up yet, so I haven't seen this first-hand.

Help each other out with info? That's not cheating.

And besides, you always just do heads up matches.

FYI on the 100% match, what they match goes into your pending deposit bonus and only becomes available as you make bets with your actual deposit (4% of each bet).

Over the past week or two I think I mathed out a pretty reliable way to turn a profit on there. I'm only starting with ~$160 in my account at the moment andobviously I haven't proven my strategy works yet but I'm optimistic.

Weelllllll that was Fun. I got the fax from inside guys that said it is time to get OUT. FBG lineups are set to drain ya. Again this is inside info. Don't fight it.... Or go broke.

Win more than 55% of the time. Or go all in on big money matchups to make up for losing smaller money ones.

I just entered for the first time. $10 deposited. Two $2 contests, 3 $1 expert and 3 $1 beginner.

Lots of billal Powell at rb with Peterson, Charles, or cj2k.

Manning, tanehill, or locker as qbs.

Dez, welker, and shorts heavy at wr.

Graham or Witten at te.

Prater or sturgis kicking

Colts d

:coffee:

I put a $10 deposit down last week. After one week, up to $29ish. Came in 2nd in one $5 dollar contest. I'll probably enter another small money contest shortly.

 Interesting development here.
This is straight from LHUCKS math guys. Take notice, people.

I'm three wks and $50 in it. I've won $1.80 of all the games I've played. I try to mix up tournaments H2H and other games.

It's been interesting and I kinda like it but haven't figured out turning a profit. I'm thinking I'd prefer just casual stuff. Don't have time to study each week. I'll play out the rest of my deposit and hopefully something will hit.

This is shaping up to be an extremely profitable week for me (in relative terms, of course). The $160 I started with will probably be around $250 after tonight's game. I don't expect 50+% profit every week but I'm learning a few lessons each week and am growing more confident that I can reliably profit over the course of the season. The rake is high but it's beatable.

The rake is pretty high. I think I'm going to cash in 6 or 7 of the 8 I entered and I'll end up "winning" about $2.

agree with the folks saying the rake is high.
:goodposting:

I put $50 on there for giggles.

I was blown away at the rake.

played a $10 heads up and lost

Then decided the only way to actually make any worthwhile money was to enter a tournament where i could turn my $10 into $100-$1000.

But then i realized there is only a hair more skill involved there than in the lottery.

I've got $30 sitting in there and haven't gone back since week 2

There was a poker website that offered "rake back", in that if you used their referral code to sign up an account for a poker website, they'd split the referral bonus back with you. Is there a similar site available for FanDuel? If not, should we start one?

Anyone have any idea how many people Dodds has suckered into this and how much he's pulling down in referrals?

You're like a robot, though, Iggy. I think the OP wants to know if actual humans can make money ;)

I had $10 in my PayPal and figured why not. Played two $2 fifty/fifty and eight $1 fifty/ fifty. Cashed in all 8 so I have 18.00 for next week. Finished 15th or better in every league. Seems easy.

I play double up / triple up / 5050s for $5/10 and occasional $25 almost exclusively and they're like printing money. I'm hitting at an 80-90pct clip or so

Wagering about 20-25 of bankroll each week. More than tripled up. Each week I play a couple stupid $2-5 longshots and I'm only hitting those at 25-30pct I think. Need to stop that.

Deposited same amount in draftstreet and quit after 1 break even week. Don't like the format.

Same into draftday... Going onto week 4 of a $5 buyin heads-up bracket. Kinda dig the bracket format. Haven't played many regular games though... Same reason.. Prefer the format at fanduel.

Won 64 of 68 contests this week. Turned my $164 into $283.60. My goal two weeks ago was to take $100 and turn it into $500 by the end of the NFL season. I think I may need to revise that.

I've lost money every single time I play. I burned though about $50 trying it out. That's enough for me, I suck at it.

Its called bank-roll management, enjoy the secret to gambling on high variance games.

OK - So it seems like most of you are actually making some money. Some more than others, but it's definitely worth a shot. The 100% match makes it an easy decision to at least try.

What are the triple up? 3 team leagues?
They vary in size. If there are 30 people the top 10 get paid. If there are 300, the top 100 get paid.

Just like the double up or 50/50 leagues pay 50 in a 100 man league or 500 in a 1000 man league.

You don't have to WIN it... you just gotta beat 1/2 or 2/3 of the people. Helps cut variance.

Wk Entered Won ROI

3 $117.00 $153.76 31.4%

4 $164.00 $283.60 72.9%

5 $269.00 $349.76 30.0%

6 $352.00 $343.48 -2.4%

7 $342.00 $563.38 64.7%

I had a couple of good weeks where I could not lose and then had back-to-back weeks where I about broke even and then lost all my wagers. Rough stretch.

Wow ... this has been really, really cool to see all the success everyone has had! FYI - If you still want to get that 100% deposit match they have a new deal ... promo code DUELNOW. I think the old one expired.

I heard there was some scandal about one of the high volume guys, Condai or whatever his name is, having his lineup changed after the games began (this is NBA).

The rake is ridiculous. Just skip the middle man and flush 10 percent of your money down the toilet.

Yeah, the rake is ridiculous. The people who run FanDuel should just do it out of the goodness of their hearts. There's no expenses associated with running that kind of website, after all.

There's a difference between charging a rake and a ridiculous rake.

They should make money, no question about it.

But 10% is highway robbery. They need to cut their marketing budget.. i'm sick of all their endless ads and focus on creating a good gambling environment where people could actually make some money.

Casinos make tons of money with a 5-7% model
