Does anyone start Caddy anymore? (1 Viewer)

Am I the only one that thinks Caddy is hardly worth the risk of starting anymore? At least guys like Randy Moss will OCCASSIONALLY have a big game. But Caddy hasn't done anything to help his owners ALL YEAR. Anyone starting him this weekend?

As far as his dynasty value, i know many sharks had him rated in their top 8 this year. Any hope for the future? Do you blame him, the QB, or the line?

I'd like to hear what others have to say as well as I just acquired him in a trade yesterday, albeit was for F.Taylor. My season is pretty much done so I'm thinking of the future at this point.

In a keeper league you should hang onto him. As far as this season goes, you can't expect him to produce. His surroundings have been inconsistent this year just like his play. Alstott will probably retire which will help him fantasy wise in the seasons to come. The offensive line is still a work in progress. There was some hype about the offensive line being good but in reality at full health they are adequate at best. Cadillac needs better blocking to be a homerun threat, but he runs tough and can make guys miss. He has a rough schedule this season too, which hurts his production. Add in the fact that the Bucs defense isn't what it use to be and that only adds to the mess because they have to throw the ball more.

I would say definitely keep him for the future, but if you're in a redraft league try to trade him. It's just too hard to predict when starting him is a good idea. The one or two big games he gives you won't make up for the days that he does very little. In the future I do think he has the talent to be a stud week in and week out. That may be a season or two away though.

if i were in a keeper league and could get him cheap i'd be all over it. Gruden has handled him TERRIBLY this season, he has fallen in love with Gradkowski and throwing a ton of passes a game while not committing to the run, EVER. It's really annoying but Caddy definitely has the talent, he just needs the opportunity. That said, I would not feel safe starting him the rest of this season barring a complete turnaround.

Cadillac should have been benched at least 4 weeks ago.

He should not come off the bench either.

I also love the "in keeper leagues" thing with Cadillac. How long do we get to hear that? Two years? Three years? When he busts out for 100 yds, sell him high and be glad you are done with the drama.

We're all entitled to our opinion, but that seems to be giving up awfully quickly on a guy who was the 5th overall pick in the draft last year, is only in his 2nd year and was ROY last year.Edit it add: To the original question, due to a rookie QB, an awful O-line, a goal line vulture in Alsott, and (surprisingly) questionable play calling, I am skeptical about his prospects this year but do agree he is a very good "buy low" for keeper/dynasty leagues where their owner has become overly frustrated.

It's a combination of a lot of things, but regardless of how well he performs, he's not going to light the scoreboard up on 12 carries, and until Gruden makes me believe he'll give Cadillac a real load in a game, I'm not putting him in my starting lineup.

The only reason he's still on my roster is due to his week 16 matchup against Cleveland. I don't know if I have the stones to start him in what would be (if I get there) my championship, but at least it's a good matchup to consider.

I am not starting him but he is a very good keeper...I traded Plax and my 1st rounder next year for him in week 4....if he gets the carries he puts up good #'s

He's starting for me because two of my other backs are Willis and LaMont Jordan. Needless to say, it's been a struggle this season. I think he's a decent keeper, and is currently one of my keepers in the aformentioned league. Having said that, he needs to show me something over the rest of the season for me to be at all optimistic about next season.

I'm starting Addai or Caddy at this point, unless there's a change of events with these two RBs. I've been waiting for Caddy to turn it around all season and its been killing my team. His schedule going forward isn't necessarily easy either.

I think the only way you can start him at this point is in a flex league as your RB3 and that's if you don't have anything better. It's really sad watching that situation now. I don't believe Cadillac is the primary problem there. He's running hard in my opinion, but he's being hurt by a bad offensive line, a bad QB but mostly by Gruden. I don't understand Gruden's mindset at all. Why he wants to place the game in the hands of a bad QB is beyond me. Even last night when the Bucs were playing from the front for a good part of the game he rarely tried to attack heavily with Cadillac. There were only two times in the entire game where Cadillac got back-to-back touches and there were a few times when he had a good run and didn't get another carry for a while.

The most glaring example was when the Bucs were down 17-7 and driving in the fourth quarter. Cadillac ripped off a nice run which gave the Bucs a first down inside the 20. So what happened then? Instead of sticking with Cadillac Gruden took him out and decided to air it out. In a surprising development, they kicked a FG three plays later.

I also don't understand the runs Gruden gives him. Nearly every single carry is right up the gut. They never give Cadillac a chance to bounce it outside or work in space. Everything last night was run right at the heart of the Panthers' defense. It didn't make any sense.

The more I watch Cadillac the more I see this year's version of Kevin Jones. A very talented RB who's stuck in a bad situation. He's part of a bad offense, but mainly he has a head coach who won't give him a fighting chance to succeed. We've all seen what Jones is capable of this season when given a real chance and it wouldn't be a surprise if we saw Cadillac follow suit next season.

Unfortunately that doesn't do his owners any good this year.

i havent played cadillac for a few weeks now opting for Wali Lundy instead. hoping its just a sophmore slump and for a KJones like rebound in 2007.
