Does CChambers take from Bowe's value? Bump Cassel's value? (1 Viewer)

I was surprised to see Chambers worked in so soon and taking the 2 TDs that were previously Bowe's domain.

How much of a hit does Bowe take with another large WR in KC? So far this season, Bowe's Fantasy games have often salvaged by those late, garbage-time TDs.

I assume long term thing will 'settle out', and teams will give a little more coverage to Chambers, giving Bowe more opportunities.

How does this affect Cassel? Will there be a bump in his production with another target to throw to?

Also, is Lance Long an upgrade over Bobby Wade and the other guys they were throwing out there?

Chambers has always been one of the biggest teases around. I compare him to a stripper.

He just looks good and it really seems like he will, you just keep hoping, you then even may start expecting that it will happen and just like that guy investing money and tring to pick up that stripper and take her home it just does not end up very well at all.

Bowe still got 10 targets, plus a few more that don't show up due to penalty. He was the first option in the red zone on the last drive, was kindof open on two fades in the endzone but cassel couldn't deliver the ball. Then he drew a illegal contact. Finally, he was first option on the 5 yd TD to chambers, but didn't get open, and chambers got the ball on a scramble.

In my view, Chambers can't hurt, defenses will at least respect him. Kindof.

I also think it should help Bowe a little by taking some of the defensive attention off of him. Also, I think it helps Cassel's value as well. Another big WR to throw to doesn't hurt a QB for sure. Plus with LJ gone and Charles getting more work...Charles is a good receiver out of the backfield...should also help some. Charles caught a 2 point conversion this past Sunday.

X2The Chiefs are just painful to watch.....seeing Chambers come in and vulture 2 TD's made my head want to explode! :lol:Cassel is running for his life on almost every play.

Oddly enough...I took a couple strippers home in my younger days.............Just sayin....

How much did it cost you? I am just saying? Haha I have the odd buddy get lucky too.In fantasy terms... I don't think Chambers hurts Bowe at this point at all.

Chambers spooked me. I just traded Bowe for Brent Celek. At first glance it seems I gave up too much but it's 14 teams and I made some other moves that made Bowe easier to give up. My other TE was Scheffler so Celek is a nice upgrade.

If this wasn't some one week fluke, I think it seriously helps a bad offense. They needed a spark badly, and although they struggled for most of the game and they still lost, Chambers getting two TDs so soon after joining the team has to be a good sign. They've had almost no running game. The passing game has struggled mightily. Any help is welcome in KC, I'm sure...

Actually I did start him in one league. I needed a fill in for a flex spot in a huge starter league (small bench)- 2qb, 3wr, 2rb, 1 te, 1wr/te flex, 1 wr/rb flex, and 7 bench spots. Smaller leagues I prolly wouldn't have done it.

That being said, he averaged 60-800-5td's before Jackson emerged in SD. I don't see why he can't put up part of that in KC.

you guys missed Chambers big game of the year
:goodposting:
u tellin me you started him last week?dont chase these points, nothing to see here
While I tend to agree with the statement, it's not really the point of the thread. I think any legit receiving option helps Bowe's value, and Chambers, at least for now, will demand some attention from defenses. So that's GOOD. The KC offensive line is still horrible, they have no legit running game, and their defense is beyond awful (although playing OAK, BUF and CLE should help). All this adds up to defenses keying on the pass and daring KC to try to run. And that's BAD. Bowe has great talent, but don't get fooled into thinking he's going to suddenly going to produce much more than he has been. 5/70/.5 average the rest of the way. Plus don't forget that KC draws CIN in week 16. Bowe could help you get to the championship, but he won't help you win it.

I never really noticed Chambers' decline as much as the emergence of VJax. I had VJax last year. The year before Chambers was the number 1 target. Early last season it changed and VJax has been hot ever since. With Gates and VJax, two huge targets, I think chambers got lost in the shuffle moreso than his skills declined. He could have a rebirth in KC but that O line is so bad. Cassel is running for his life most of the time, hardly ever looks settled into a nice pocket.

Hey KC is the place where Priest, Trent Green and Eddie freakin' Kennison all had "rebirths", so why not Chambers???

DING! This is also why I think LJ probably isn't as bad as his numbers have suggested recently. There is no O line compared to what they had when Priest was playing.

I gotta say as a Bowe owner, Chambers worries me. (As does something called Lance Long -- where the #### did this guy come from ???)

Anyway, I'm no longer considering Bowe a lock to start at my WR2 and will start swapping guys in and out based on matchup.

Real bummer for use Bowe owners, especially as many of us passed on Welker for this guy. :goodposting:

Chambers scoring twice last week will cause Defenses to pay more attention to him when they draw up their gameplans. This should open up Bowe at least a little more.

Bowe will still get double the targets of Chambers or anybody else they line up at WR2. I'm not worried.

That is usaully the case, but a week or two of building confidence between Cassel and chambers and Cassell may not feel the need to force it to his 1st option every time. He did learn in a system that spreads the ball around to every target on the field. The question becomes does he have a chance in hell of standing back there and going through his reads without getting killed after 4 seconds. Bowie is most FF teams # 2, so is Chambers, who is the #2 on a bad team really become the #3 on your FF team? Hopefully not full-time.

Very different receivers. If Chambers can once again reinvent himself as credible NFL receiver and legit deep threat, Bowe will have more freedom to find gaps in the defense. Theoretically, this should result in a better conversion rate on his targets. Should also result in more red zone opps, where DBowe really shines. I like Bowe to put up some nice numbers down the stretch -- something to the tune of 80 yds/.66TD per game.

He can get 100 targets a game...his numbers are miserable this year. He has only had 1 game over 100yds, and if it wasn't for a few last second garbage time TD's his numbers would resemble a waiver wire WR. I have watched a few of the recent games and the only reason Bowe is getting yards is because of Circus Catches on the sidelines. Does he really have much value anymore in that miserable offense, now no threat of a running game. Oh Boy. I think if the addition of Chambers does anything it helps Bowe. Look at the leading WR's for KC per week. Looks like a autopsy!!

Week 1: Mark Bradley 4 - 73

Week 2: Bobby Wade 6-72

Week 3: Jamal Charles 3-34

Week 4: Sean Ryan 5-58

Week 5: Dwayne Bowe 5-74

Week 6: Dwayne Bowe 6-109

Week 7: Bobby Wade 4-66

Week 9: Lance Long 8-74
