Does Denny Green have a FG fetish? (1 Viewer)

Da Guru

Fair & Balanced
This goes back to last year.

There have been many times the Cards have been down by more than 2 TDs late in the game and Green will be calling for FGs.

The Cards are not good enough to kick a FG down by 19 late in the second half even though you are thinking 2 TDs and 2 two point conversions will tie.

It is truly puzzling.

Yeah those FG's are probably going to cost me a FF win this week too.

Maybe he was hoping Rackers would miss so he could blame the loss on Rackers.

I was wondering the same thing. Of course, it hurt me. Was going against Rackers in a tight scrum and those extra 3 points were/are huge. It appears the collapse against the Bears ended their season. I wonder if Green knew who the Raiders were before today?

Green does this for the same reason that he punts when trailing by 10 late in the 4th quarter:

It looks good on paper.

Denny Green does not play to win -- he plays to not lose by a lot.

I was not playing against Rackers today. Although last year it did kill me. That is why I have noticed it since.

Green is horrible and should be fired tomorrow. That was a very dumb decision to kick those field goals. And to huddle up and take all that time off the clock in the fourth quarter was just dumb.

This team is totally lost.

With every loss, he is one step closer to the exit. He's running out of people to blame. Maybe it was the Gatorade boy this week.I think it was bush league laying it on the OC last week, and now that it was worse this week how's he going to explain this one?

This has happened in every Cardinals game this year. I don't understand how he gets away with it and is never questioned by the press. I have stated that Madden gamers have better clock management than the Cardinals. It is obvious that the offensive coordinator was not the faulty party.

While I agree that Green is a pretty bad coach, I actually think the two field goals (both on 4th and 5+) were the only thing that gave the cards a shot in that game. Down by 13 with around 11 minutes to play is a far better situation than likely failing on a 4th and long and losing all confidence and being totally out of the game.

Down 13 with 6mins left was a part of the game plan all along. After all, da Bears faced the same situation last week. They were playing for a fumble-six and a kick-six.

Vikings fans will never forgive him for kneeling the ball on 3rd and 4 with time left on the clock in regulation to take it into overtime in the '99 NFC Championship loss to the Falcons. He's never had a very good understanding of utilizing the clock to earn a win.
