Does LT come up small today in Indy? (1 Viewer)

If Gates does not play or is very limited today, this would probably free up Bob Sanders to help out against LT. I just can't see LT having a big game this week against the Colts. They are going to load up to stop LT and force Rivers to beat them.

If the Colts get ahead by 2 scores the Chargers will have to go to the air, (LT will still get some dump offs) but I don't think LT breaks 70-80 total yards or scores more than 1 TD.

Of course if Manning throws 6 picks again, LT could get a couple of short TD's.

I agree, except LT is still the Chargers top receiving threat if Gates is out. I want to see Turner in the backfield with LT in the slot. If the Chargers staff is smart, they'll move LT around a lot to prevent Sanders from keying on him, while utilizing Turner or Sproles in the backfield.

I was contemplating this on the way to grab some donuts for the kids.

Is LT starting to slip? It's getting more obvious every game that he is the entire offense.

I know it's been obvious before but that was a few years ago and he was younger, I'm working on some numbers now.

just trying to gage if I'm the only one who thinks this may be coming.

With Gates out you are likely to see a lot of two-TE sets with Manu and Naane. Manu is one of the best blocking TEs in the game, and Naane is a very athletic blocker. More and better blockers sometimes help a RB (although a respected passing attack does too).

Well it sounds like Gates is going to play. I guess they will have to see how effective he can be and before making any adjustments with Bob Sanders, covering Gates or supporting the run.

If he did it would have nothing to do with him. It's just they have no other legit option if Gates sits.

:) Huh? I know it's not easy to keep up with backup TEs, but I would put up Manu and Naane against any other team's #2 and #3. If Gates doesn't play you probably won't see much of a dropoff, just like when he went out last week.
