**Dolphins at Packers** Thanksgiving Night - 8:20 on NBC (-3, 47) (2 Viewers)

Miami in Green Bay in November
Tua playing very nicely these days
Packers keep winning
Could be the most competative game of the day
Tyreek is off the hook with the law
I think The Fins have a real chance for the upset of the day
No analytics
Just a gut feeling...

Boys From South Beach- 33
Boys From Lambeau- 29

Also, the Bills had ripped their heart and soul out, having chased them down from a 3 game lead with 5 to go to steal the division.

Miami went from a division champ with a home game in the Florida heat, to having to face the reigning champs on the road in one of the coldest games ever. Oof!

That said, I like the Packers here.

Weather looks like it will be around 20* with some wind. It feels like it will be a big Jacobs and Kraft game. My prediction is the Pack get out to an early lead and pound the Phins into submission. 24-14, Jacobs 100+ yards and at least 1 TD, Kraft with 65+ yards and 1 TD.

I am looking for a surging veteran Miami team to rise up in this one and shed all of the narratives that have plagued this team for as long as Footballguys has been in existence.

Miami - 23
GB - 20

TDs for Achane, Jonnu, Kraft and Reed

This feels like a game where big plays will decide it to me. Both defenses are just ok, and both offenses have talent, but are somewhat inconsistent.

For Miami, I think this sets up as a nice Achane game, especially as a pass catcher, as that has long been a weakness of the Packers defense. For Green Bay, I think Jordan Love is able to sit back and pick apart this defense. This feels like a Jayden Reed week, especially with Kohou likely to be mostly covering him. Jacobs should also stay hot, though I expect more chunk gains than consistent success.

Packers-31
Dolphins-17

It doesn’t have to be as cold as the last playoff game. Plenty of other examples of Miami playing poorly on the road in any kind of cold weather. I’m staying away from them for the most part if I can.

Tua has never beaten a team in under 40 degree weather.

Tua is now 7-16 lifetime vs teams over .500

Packers 31
Dolphins 13

The Dolphins are not a physical team and don’t pound the rock enough. They are not built for this kind of weather and IMO are soft. Speed and timing? It’s a recipe for disaster in what will feel like 10 degrees tonight.

Packer blow out and we can put to rest salvaging a post season berth. This is not playoff team…..not at all.

It's gonna feel like 19 degrees at kickoff. Miami has no chance in this game. See playoff game in KC last year. They had no interest in playing in that cold.
It was -12 degrees in that game, and Miami was using street free agents as their starting edge rushers. 19 degrees will feel tropical in comparison.
No….no it won’t. It’s freaking cold.

We are gonna fold like a lawn chair Chuck. You should know better.

“You know I’m a dreamer….but my heart is cold….

Que up that horrid Audi commercial for Chuck

They should pound it today, it’s their best chance.

Yeah but McDaniel simply can’t commit to the run despite us being a good running team.

He will be out-coached tonight as well.

Our defense is actually playing well. But I don’t think our offense will function in this environment in very cold weather vs a winning team.

Hope I am very wrong.

It’s 32 degrees now and feels like 16 with 13mph wind.

At kickoff it will be 27 degrees and 11mph wind, should feel single digits. It’s not warm. It doesn’t feel warm. It feels cold here. Now, if you are local it’s no big deal. But for folks coming from Florida? It will feel freaking cold.

Weather is overblown for Miami’s offense. They had a really good game against Buffalo in snow and wind about a year or two ago. Defense might be more of a problem.

Blind squirrels find nuts once in a blue moon.

We suck *** in cold weather historically.

Absolutely. But this iteration of the Dolphins has had offensive cold weather success. That’s better than nothing (or a dire and grim history).

My son and nephews wanted to go out and throw a football at halftime. I was like “guys, it’s cold out…..” They all called me a pansy (lol, whatever youngsters) so we went outside. They lasted 3 minutes before running in whining that it was “brutally frigid.” So I stayed outside 5 more minutes and shot hoops instead. Good times.

And yeah. It’s freezing!

At least we'll have an excuse for why we lost rather than just accepting that our offense stinks against good defenses with this coach/pair combo.

This is setting up for a classic prime time dolphins let down game.
Hard to call it a let down when literally nobody believes in them tonight.

Nobody believed in the Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day in 1993 playing in the snow either.
You need to spend some time on a dolphins message board. 3 wins in a row and the offense clicking has the faithful thinking playoffs. It all comes crashing down tonight. Its only a 3.5 spread; home field and warm weather team playing in cold temp alone justifies that.

I'm not crazy enough to go near a Dolphins message board.

Along with crazy Dolphins fans, Vegas seems to believe in the Dolphins a little. Started at a 3-point spread, I believe, and still a healthy over-under.

If I were a betting man, I'd be smashing the Packers and the Under. This feels like 21-13 Packers with Josh Jacobs running wild.
But Vegas seems to think the Dolphins will score some points tonight. Anytime a Vegas line looks odd to me, I seem to be the idiot.

And it's a tiny sample size, but maybe the Dolphins only play well in cold weather on Thanksgiving Day?

Same. As a dolphins fan, they'd probably lose by 3 if I bet against them. It should be a route. Tua could give the pack 14 by himself.

US 41?

I also find this line suspicious. Is it belief in Fins or Vegas had to do something drastic to encourage even money here? Because I feel public would go packers 90% of the time at -4.5

To Waddle or not to Waddle is the question. He has had exactly 2 good games all year week 1 and last week.

I am torn on playing him or sitting him in many leagues.

I love what the Dolphins did with Shaq Barrett after he announced his reinstatement and desire to play right away...
6 games left, isn't there some kind of rule about logging a full year but you have to play a minimum of 6 games outside of major injury of course

-Miami won't activate him at all this season and won't release him so another team can come right along and scoop him up.
They paid him $9M or allocated $9M from the salary cap, money that would have been spent much wiser on say Van Ginkel who ends up getting $10M per year from the Vikings
Clearly he is having a major impact on that defense and his absence from Miami this season has hurt the Phins a lot

**** this guy. And another shining example that Grier needs to be the first piece to fall in this regime.

2026 see ya Tua and McD
