**Dolphins at Texans** (-3, 47) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Texans looking for a "get right" game
I think we see a heavy dose of Joe Mixon early
That will open up a few deep shots to Nico and Tank, yes I said TANK!
Tua is steady
But I like the home team in this one
So...

Best team in Texas- 27
Second best Team in Florida- 24

I think Miami is probably a better team than Houston is right now. They'd probably have a better record if they played in the South and Tua hadn't missed 4 games. Miami is still very much alive in the playoff hunt with a win.

For Houston, I think I'm starting to really wonder if Tank Dell is even the 2nd best WR when Diggs is hurt. I'd like to see Houston use John Metchie more, and perhaps that happens this week as Miami is awful against slot WRs, but defends the outside guys pretty well. That likely won't matter against Nico Collins, but Dell could see a lot of Jalen Ramsey. I think Miami does a decent job against Mixon.

I think Tua has a nice game against a mediocre secondary, that just lost its 2nd best player (Pitre) I think this especially sets up as a nice game for Achane in the pass game. If anything derails the offense, it'll be Patrick Paul vs Danielle Hunter, but I would think/hope Miami doesn't leave him on an island too much.

Couple things of note: Paul played 60+ snaps last week I believe and he allowed 2 QBR and zero sacks. Just 1 game and it's the Jets but early look seemed as though he's learned a lot watching and getting ready for his chance. Miami did not insert him for Jackson when he went on IR at Right Tackle, instead they went with Lamm and I don't think that's because they don't believe in Paul but prefer him to prepare to be their next Left Tackle as early as next season.

2nd - Houston does not allow a ton of FF points to opposing QBs, I've enjoyed a 3-4 week run with Tua Tags, 30+ in most of my leagues last 4 weeks, he must be Top 5 over that span
I don't trust him and I don't think you understand that even at 7-7, Miami enters 2 full games back in the WC and 4 games left...Bolts, Ravens and Broncs all have 8-5 records, it's about over for Miami thinking Playoffs but yes they are still alive, barely I would say. Bolts play Bucs, Ravens play Giants, Denver likely will beat the Colts, even if Miami wins could easily still be 2 back in the WC with only 3 games left. I can see Miami going 10-7 and not getting into the Playoffs, they've done it before

Glad you have so much confidence in them, you've been a gem in these game threads the last several weeks, very much appreciate you popping in and sharing your thoughts

I think Paul is a solid prospect, but I think Hunter is a level above anyone the Jets have as a pass rusher. I do agree he's likely the long term guy there for them.

Houston actually kind of sucks against QBs. They've given up 17+ points each of the last 3 games, and while that doesn't sound like a ton, those last 3 games were against Mac Jones, Will Levis, and Cooper Rush. I know I'm a bigger Tua fan than most, but he's Drew Brees compared to those guys. Even going back a couple weeks earlier they got lit up by Aaron Rodgers too. In fact, the only game they've really played well in the last 2 months, was that weird Lions game where Goff threw 5 INTs.

I think its very possible the Chargers and/or Broncos lose this week. Then they play each other next week. Miami could be the #7 seed after week 16. The same applies to the Colts too if they beat Denver.

Situation in my league where 1 team is starting Hill, Waddle and J Smith. Tua is on the WW and am waiting for their opponent to pick up Tua

Any other ideas about this?

So many times QB couldn’t hit the WR on long bombs vs Texans this season. I think I read somewhere a stat that calculates teams who has either given up the most long receptions or should have if caught were the Texans. Seriously at one point I was counting at least 4-5 times a game where there was a wide open WR only to see Lawrence or Rodgers or Love or whoever miss them. I would even comment in game thread while those are incomplete you can’t credit the defense.

Miami's playoff odds go from 14 to 31% with a win.

But Miami will be down to LT Patrick Paul, who's graded as 105/133 tackles, better as a pass protector. And the 3rd RT Jackson Carman who has 2nd round pedigree in the 2021 draft (CIN), but couldn't cut it in 3 seasons with the Bengals. He's replacing Kendall Lamm, who was decent, better than Austin Jackson IMO. Tua will be pressured by Hunter & Anderson. This would be a signature victory for Tua if Miami wins and he has a good day.

I don't think we can cover Nico Collins, expect a big day passing for Stroud, using play action. HOU 31 - MIA 20.

And yet Miami will likely waste a 2nd Drive here in the 1st Q, Tua and the Offesne never come out and impose their will
The running play on the 1st drive prior to 3rd and 8/punt, Achane and Tua had the body language like they knew that run up the middle was a waste and it was

@Ministry of Pain Tua with a bad throw under pressure rolling out to the left. Stroud makes that throw rolling out to the right.

This is his time to prove doubters wrong versus a good team. When will he throw to Jonnu?

Seiler was a bargain.

Tua gonna Tua in December...same story every time
Punt
Punt
Punt
Turnover
Punt
Punt...
We have the highest paid pair of WR’s who don’t get any targets so far….maybe one between them so far?

Literally we throw screens all game long.

Tua simply never goes downfield anymore.

Since his return from his concussion I rarely see a pass longer than 15 yards…..and today….lol what are we watching here.

73.5 completion percentage because we throw 5 yards on average.

And BTW Stroud is not the same guy this season this far. Clearly a sophomore slump.

Houston for an 8-5 team looks kinda weak.

Tua has a 124 QB rating passing to Jonnu, IIRC.
2 targets each for Hill and Waddel

0 receptions.

The fanbase has been delusional down here thinking we have an elite offense. We looked elite in September and October of 2023 vs sisters of the poor. Ever since then we have been below average.

Grier needs to go first. After the 2025 season you mark this down…..Tua and McDaniel will both be gone heading into 2026.

Total restart again coming soon. This is simply not working.

We have a pop gun finesse offense with zero physicality. We have some pieces on defense but were ravaged by injuries to Chubb and now Phillips yet again….we let Wilkens and Van Kinkel walk….Deshaun walked, we extended Ramsey for way too much money who is not a lock down corner, extended Waddle who is clearly not a top shelf guy…he drops too many passes and is soft as well.

Love Achane and Wright at RB. They are players. Hill is a player. Jonnu has emerged because we go underneath literally every play.

The team is a middling hodge podge of mediocrity.

No post season wins since 2001

Yeah how can I be optimistic????

That looked like a serious ankle or knee injury to Waddle. TBD.
Oooof.
But now walking on his own to the blue tent.
If he toughs it out I will surprised to be honest.

He is soft.

Meantime…..Tua has very impressive red zone numbers.

But has that helped us win vs winning teams? Has that helped this team reach its goals.

Stats are for losers.

In this age of analytics and next gen stats I see a lot of hot air.

When we discuss the winning teams in this league we talk about wins, winning under pressure, ultimate playcalling, clock management, and LOS domination.

The stat boys can talk till they are blue in the face…..I see a soft team, a QB who can’t play under pressure and beat winning teams.

That’s the only stat I need to know.

Mac Jones doing well enough to be an interesting backup QB for a team in 2025, but not good enough to be a starter. Would Miami offer him a contract with incentives? Miami could've been 8-5 with a better backup QB.

Good question. And you are right. Our backup situation was laughable.

Time will tell.

Another sorry butt performance by the Miami Offense in the 1st Half, such a sucker to have to roll Tua out there knowing no matter how many Media Heads, Social Platforms, Websites dedicated to FF that had Tua Top 5-10 all week despite the Texans being top 5 vs opposing QBs in FF

SUCKERS!!!

Plus Miami's oline with a backup rookie LT and backup to the backup RT is a bottom 5 oline unit. And now an INT by TUA!

There is that Tua I have been pounding the table about.

Vs winning teams he is a losing QB.

But keep telling me he is really good.

Paul is a Top 50-60 pick that's had all season to learn behind ArmDud and Austin Powers at Tackle
Miami didn't play him at RT when AJ went on IR

-It's always an excuse with Tua, the stars and planets have to align for him to win...or he has to play terrible teams where Miami comes out on top often
Anyone with a winning record and this team folds like a cheap suit

Always the same excuses time and time again, and I'll tell you why. Bad teams always cry foul on injuries, penalties and bad plays in general

Couldn't get 5 more yards to get a Houston DEF TD could ya damn Achane is too fast

I played Tua over Mahomes not great Bob

Patheticus McDaniel and Tua Tags doing what they do in December just like every headCoach/QB tandem before them in the 21st Century
Carson Beck might fall to the 2nd or 3rd round. Does Miami pull the trigger.

Achane prevented a TD with that tackle.
I would.

You take a QB every draft.

Shula always took a QB literally almost every draft even when we had Marino.

It’s hard to hit on them…..so you just take em till you do.

5 targets for Hill and Waddle: zero catches

How is that even possible?
Tua Tags at QB, it's been like this almost every 1st Half of football all season long.
Find me any 1st Half this season where Waddle or Hill have north of 50 or 75 yds, NOBODY comes out and storms the building at WR
