Dolphins WR Ma. Vick Named In Sexual Battery Lawsuit (1 Viewer)

A 17-year-old girl who claims she had an almost two-year sexual relationship...the plaintiff suffered, and will continue to suffer, psychological trauma associated with the child sexual abuse perpetrated...It also names the girl's grandmother as a plaintiff....The girl accuses Vick of fraud, saying he told he loved her

:bag: :bag: This lawyer is the type that gives lawyers a bad name.

Marcus Vick is the type that gives pro athletes (or college, or high school for that matter) a bad name.

I'm not saying Marcus is a model citizen, but you're making him out to be some sort of hardened criminal. The things he's done aren't that bad. Having sex with an underage girl. I've done that (married her too). Smoking pot. Done that too. Provided alcohol to a minor. Afraid I'm guilty there too (back in the day 18 was the legal age and I had 17yo friends). Speeding. I got caught once myself. I've never pulled a gun on anyone, but then again he claims it was a blackberry. Not sure I buy that one. Yeah, I'm sure he gives the Chris Henry's, Ricky Manning Jr's and Ray Lewis's (and plenty of others) of the NFL a bad name.

The girl was 15 at the time Vick started the sexual relationship. That's some hardcore statutory, my friend. Don't care about the pot or the drinking, but the gun is the real clincher, IMHO. And yes, he is a criminal; maybe not hardened, but pointing a gun at someone is more than just stupid, it's dangerous, regardless of whether or not he intended to use it. (I'll take the several eyewitness accounts that it wasn't a blackberry). Throw that all on top of the fact that the guy has shown zero appreciation for his ability and situation. No respect for the man.I edited this post to say, I agree with you about the lawyer. He's spewing a load of B.S. Then again, waht would one expect from a lawyer?Fun fact: in hebrew, the word Satan translates equivilently to the word "lawyer".As far as the other guys, they're criminals as well, and garner no respect from me either.

Fixed this for you. It is probably true but at this point all we know for sure is the young lady is making an accusation. It doesn't mean that it is true.

This was 2 years ago evidently, being that she is now 17 and it allegedly began when she was 15. Vick was playing in college at the time. World of difference.

You're not, but apparently I am. I was 19 and she was 16. :moneybag: And to this day she is still 3 years younger than me. Weird. :boxing:

From Buck PrivatesAbbott: You're 40 years old, and you're in love with a little girl, say 10 years old. You're four times as old as that girl. You couldn't marry that girl, could you?

Costello: No.

Abbott: So you wait 5 years. Now the little girl is 15, and you're 45. You're only three times as old as that girl. So you wait 15 years more. Now the little girl is 30, and you're 60. You're only twice as old as that little girl.

Costello: She's catching up.

Abbott: Here's the question. How long do you have to wait before you and that little girl are the same age?

Costello: What kind of question is that? That's ridiculous. If I keep waiting for that girl, she'll pass me up. She'll wind up older than I am. Then she'll have to wait for me!

Interesting that Granny didn't call the cops on him back then and waited until years later when MV got his paycheck.

All part of the American dream I guess.

That's just kind of creepy. Glad it worked out for you, but I was just always kind of weirded out by the college-age guys who still dated high school sophomores.

I was off - it's actually 16 in most states, although there are some that allow it at 14 with parental consent or when the difference in age is less than 4 years.http://teenadvice.about.com/library/weekly...onsentchart.htm

Good call, good call... I jumped the gun.
Not so sure that's true if I'm reading the SI article correctly:
Vick and two of his former teammates at Tech were convicted in 2004 of three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for giving three underage girls liquor and encouraging them to strip.

Vick confessed to police that he had consensual sex with one of the girls. The girl who allegedly had sex with Vick invoked her Fifth Amendment rights at the trial.

In the lawsuit, the girl identifies herself as the one who had sex with Vick on that night in January 2004 that led to his arrest and conviction.
A 17-year-old girl who claims she had an almost two-year sexual relationship...the plaintiff suffered, and will continue to suffer, psychological trauma associated with the child sexual abuse perpetrated...

It also names the girl's grandmother as a plaintiff....

The girl accuses Vick of fraud, saying he told he loved her

I AM sure that's right--despite the attorney's comments:
"She's maybe seeing this thing in a different light now," the girl's Christiansburg-based attorney, Stephen Haga, said Thursday. "I think she's now seeing that he misused her."
Somehow that "different light now" seems to be that Ma Vick actually might be worth suing after all....disclaimer--I am not in any way trying to defend his actions--

There's another kind? But let's back up: does anyone think anyone involved in this isn't slime? Are the same people aware water is wet? :hey: hello
