Don't Overreact 2025 Edition (1 Viewer)

How about Worthy? Can I overreact to that?
I doubt it's season ending or anything given that he walked out on his own. He migh miss a week or 2.
were they going to wheel him out on a stretcher with a shoulder issue???
Clearly! I could be wrong but wasn't he listed as questionable? For a serious injury wouldn't he be a doubtful or immediately ruled out?

This local news article says he's rehabbing and I looked up the injury report (which cites rotoworld) in one of my leagues and he still has a questionable tag. It says

Reid describes Worthy (shoulder) as day-to-day

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Xavier Worthy (shoulder) is “day to day.”
Advice: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport believes this is an indication that “the plan is to rehab and attempt to play with a brace -- rather than immediate surgery.” We’ll see how well Worthy plays through the obvious limitations — his practice statuses this week should be among the most-monitored — but it sounds like there’s at least a chance he’s able to be ready for the Eagles in Week 2.

so it doesn't sound too bad.
lol I was more commenting on your post that said it couldn't have been bad given that he walked out on his own.

He hurt his shoulder.... A hurt shoulder doesn't stop anyone from walking out on their own.

You haven't seen me when someone lightly grazed me with their car mirror. Couldn't walk for months until the settlement.

Don't be picking up the Washington defense just yet. They played a really lousy offense in week 1. See how they do against the Packers on Thursday.
I'm not sure if the Colts are in the same boat. The Dolphins looked baaaaaad. And not in a Sweet Sweetback kind of way.

Week 1 staying calm…but man a terrible week 1 for my squad. I guess good to have them all underperform in one week…get it out of their system. Burrow, Gibbs, Hampton, Nabers, Evans. 🤮

I'm concerned about the Detroit offense.
Definitely stream Dolphin's opponents' defenses. Unless it's their division rival Bills who they play twice. Or the Jets. Ok wait. I meant to say stream Carolina's opponents' defenses.
Egbuka isn't going anywhere.
Keon Coleman isn't going anywhere.
Bill is for real.
I was wrong about Jerome Ford holy cow. If you didn't see, Sampson looked really really good. Made a couple amazing catches too.
AFC South is garbage as usual. Jacksonville the shining star of the division we'll see if that holds up.
TUTEN SZN JK

Penix looked really really good to me. The ATL defense harassed Baker all day and stuffed the run. WRs need to get healthy.
JSN SZN
The Niners training room continues to dominate touches in a career that is rivaled only by malaria
The Cardinals have done nothing (in a very long time) to make me want to watch them.

Who is worth overreacting for? In other words, who unexpectedly blew up in week one that will only improve? You're buying high, but in reality buying low, e.g. Puka.
I am thinking Etienne, Dobbins, and QJ all have the chance to keep it up this year and may be traded for without a massive cost of future picks. Thoughts?

ETN just helped net me Saquon.

Dobbins didn't look explosive at all. What if RJ is the guy, he already posted decent numbers and nearly broke 21mph on that 50 yard carry.

ETN will likely outperform his ADP but it feels like Tuten could see some touches at some point, right?

@TomServo
I don't believe JK Dobbins will be the featured RB all season, and then you have the injury risk which always shortens hi seasons even when he is producing at an avg rate
I'm with you on Q J and he's likely to go 4/48, 3/36 the next two weeks but then he'll pop off again for 100/TD, he's a Boom/Bust Flex option, I went after him on waivers most places this week

I did it because when I look around waivers, most of those players need injuries to get on the field which is gonna happen HOWEVER, there's a reason most of them are not starters
Plus Herbert looks like they are going to turn him loose this year in Harbaugh/Roman's system
And if Keenan Allen or Ladd is unavailable, you're playing a guy that's not really coming in off the bench cold.

-I like ETN, grabbed him as my RB4/RB5 in any league i could grab him.
His track record shows he has the most skills of the RBs they have right now. Things could change but he looks like he's going to find bigger chunks in Coen vs last HC

I think this is its own thread. Great list.

It really makes you consider who you would truly move on and how you value players. It already is making me think about players that I might try to "overpay" to get.

One thing I would suggest is removing the consensus 1st and 2nd round picks. Yes, Puka could exceed even his performance from week one but, IMO the people who roster him are thinking the same thing. They're congratulating themselves for being right, IMO.

Of the RBs that I think may be available that I would target: Totally agree about Etienne, also Breece Hall for sure and, I'm mildly bullish on Javonte.

For the WRs, I think I put QJ on the same level as Javonte. Solid but, I'm not seeing a league winner. My league winner, breakout candidate is Keon Coleman. If he is the WR1 that he looked like against the Ravens, 1,500+ yards & 10+ TDs are entirely possible.

Anyone think CMC is gonna have a difficult time with Purdy, Kittle and Aiyuk all OUT?
How many RB1s taking the field this weekend and have lost all 3 of those? Ricky is an excellent WR but he hasn't played a full 17 game season yet

I don't overreact but I also think CMC might try to do too muc and he already is dancing around the injury report
Ughhhhh

There's absolutely no reason not to post this and since I went so forcefully against the Chiefs having any offense weapons until Rashee comes back and even he ain't going to be enough to keep defenses from going absolutely nuts like Mahomes is in heat. Check this stat out. These guys are indescribably bad.

According the Next Gen Stats, Isiah Pacheco is -17 in expected yards gained on all his runs through two games. All Chiefs RBs are negative in EPA as well.

What’s the NFL average?

The NFL average per rush is -.5 to -.10 EPA (expected points added) and Pacheco is at -.14 EPA

He's worse than the approximate generousness. If you want to use more trad stats (YPC, even with its flaws), then he's at 3.13 YPC.

Can add Jeanty to the list based on the comments in his player thread. Remember that Bijan looked to be a bust early on in his rookie year.

To be fair, early returns are not good based on his draft stock and belief that he can thrive irrespective of the offensive environment around him. Just may not happen right away, as with Bijan.

Don't overreact: JJM, Jeanty, Hampton, Ladd, BTJ, Chase Brown
Overreact: AJB, Kaleb Johnson, Braelon Allen, TLaw, Mahomes

Considering their draft capital, I think it's ok to start worrying about Jeanty and Hampton.
Too early, if it were an Audible book you would not be able to rate it because you havent listened to enough of it. The only i reason why I put Kaleb in the "overreact" group is because I thought he was pretty terrible pre-draft. I think Jeanty and Hampton will both be fine by the end of the season.

I don’t think this was common sentiment.
255 yards in his first 2 games
A fairly middling rookie year while sharing a lot of time with Allgeier. Maybe bust is a strong word, but IIRC he didn't quite live up to lofty expectations as a rookie.

Yea I think this is a case of both sides being partially right.

People were definitely disappointed in Bijan as a rookie. It's crazy how fast people forget sentiment in this game (which is also a good indication that a month from now several of these players will likely have had huge value rebounds and people won't even remember the first two weeks), but people were generally mildly disappointed in Bijan as a rookie. His dynasty ADP actually went down going into his second year.

However, most of that was usage based. When he got the ball he did fine with it, they would just mind blowingly use Allgeier way more than people thought. Somewhat eye test too, people thought he lacked the burst/power combo they had been sold on (which is crazy to think of when watchng him now as that combo is incredible).

I am wondering if Week 3 will be Terry McLaurin's breakout week — or, at the very least, a sign of life!

I was watching the game last night, and Las Vegas D looks SO bad. I got to thinking, maybe this is his opportunity.... or, will it continue to be The Deebo Samuel Show Featuring Zach Ertz in Washington....?

Gibbs might be a better comparison. People were extremely upset with him in the first quarter of his rookie year. It wasn't until week 7 that he had a big game and that was in garbage time of a humiliating loss to the Ravens so even that seemed a little suspect. But obviously we know now that it was the start of something very special. Jonathan Taylor also had fantasy players very frustrated his rookie season but the final 6 games or so he went off.
