Bengals sign SS Donte Whitner to a two-year contract per Bengals beat writer Joe Reedy.

EDIT: Adam Schefter is now reporting Whitner spurns the Bengals for the 49ers after Whitner earlier texted media members and wrote on Twitter that he was signing with Cincinnati.
